SOCIALISM:

An inevitable consequence of socialism is when government officials get a chance to do harm to a competitor of the socialist company, in this case Toyota, they do it.

TAX AND SPEND:

Back in 2001 a Mises scholar recommended $2.1 trillion in spending cuts annually. Think how much this plan would cut spending now that government is over twice as large.

Graph of the growth of federal civilian employees since 2007 by government-lovers Bush and Obama.

The death tax discourages savings which is exactly what we need to rebuild our economy. Cato on Obama's many new taxes on wealth producers especially multinationals.
WAR:

A.G. Holder made the decision to treat the underwear bomber like a criminal despite him legally being an enemy combatant. This is further blurring of the lines between criminals and enemy combatants by the Bush/Obama administration, and if we don't stop it, every American criminal will be treated like an enemy combatant.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Iran to enrich uranium to 20 percent. Why would anybody report this article without explaining what 20 percent enriched is good for? Why wouldn't the reporter tell us what percentage is considered weapons grade? Why do reporters leave crucial information out of their articles? To find out these things, I have to search the internet. This is why the mainstream media is dying. It's not their business model. It's the quality of the product. Since the west volunteered to enrich Iran's uranium to that level, it can't be weapons grade. 90 percent is necessary for weapons grade.

I have no problem with Iran having a conventional missile deterrent. The critical issue is whether or not Iran is developing nuclear weapons because developing a nuclear weapon and blackmailing other countries is the only way that regime can stay in power more a few more years since it will soon run out of oil.

MISC:

Remember when E-verify was just to check that a prospective employee is in the country legally? Remember when libertarians said that Congress would quickly expand it and require E-verify for all aspects of our life? Congress introduces legislation to require E-verify for mortgages. Soon it'll be in the grocery store. Bar tenders manage to card people every day. Employers can do the same without a fascist E-verify system. E-verify is going to be a disaster for Americans, but illegal aliens will quickly have a way around it.
