RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS:

"Former United Nation’s ambassador John Bolton has cautioned gun owners about the Arms Trade Treaty and says the UN “is trying to act as though this is really just a treaty about international arms trade between nation states, but there’s no doubt that the real agenda here is domestic firearms control.”"

Even if it is just a treaty to limit trade in small arms, I don't like that idea either. Limiting trade would make firearms more expensive and less accessible to poorer people, and gun control is always about disarming the poor since they're the ones who might rise up against the establishment. Of course no treaty overrides the Constitution, but we can't count on the courts to overturn it, and even if the Supreme Court does, it might not be until years after the damage is done.

ECONOMY:

Cities printing their own cash in an attempt to keep money in the city.

Knowing full well that the problem small businesses are having has to do with an uncertain market, high taxes, oppressive regulation and the high cost of hiring - lack of credit is way down the list, Obama proposes government program to incentivize lending to small businesses. This at the same time he's raising taxes on them. It's laughable. He always wants to take this money from TARP even though it's against the law.

TAX AND SPEND:

Obama's budget calls for $1 trillion in new taxes on the rich and small business owners. Obama cracks me up when he pretends he wants to create jobs. Every policy he pushes is designed to kill jobs and collapse our economy. He's doing it to us on purpose.

Obama finally stops perpetrating the lie about his stimulus creating or saving millions of jobs.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

The Fed as a giant counterfeiting machine.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE:

When is petting a dog considered assault? When it's a police dog.

WAR:

Female suicide bomber kills 54 in attack on Shiite pilgrims in Iraq. This is why mainstream Muslims would be our natural allies against the terrorists if we'd stop invading and bombing their countries. Having a billion Arab Muslims turn on the terrorists would end the war that we can never win by invading and bombing Middle Eastern countries.

CIA agents moonlight in private sector. Don't we always hear the CIA needs more money? That it's short of manpower? If these agents want more work, why can't they get it at the CIA?

US considering peace deal with Taliban?

"So Washington and London, both in dire financial straits, say they are now ready for a possible peace deal with the Pashtun Taliban and its nationalist allies."

Better eight years late than never. This would be fabulous, but it might reinvigorate Obama's domestic agenda. It sucks that Obama could use peace overseas to further subjugate Americans.

"The US and its allies need a face-saving way out of Afghanistan. Real peace talks are the answer. Not the ruse long proposed by US Gen. Stanley McChrystal to try to bribe away low-ranking Taliban and so split the Afghan resistance."

Most likely it's a ruse, but you never know.

Assuming the local government or population can't or won't apprehend a terrorist targeting the US, what's the matter with killing him?

"In late July, the New York Times disclosed a secret plan by the CIA to assassinate suspected terrorists around the globe. According to the Times, the agency decided against implementing the plan, possibly because of the risk of being prosecuted for murder in countries in which the assassinations would take place.

Actually, it’s not at all clear yet that the CIA is telling the truth about never having implemented its assassination program. After all, in November 2002, the CIA fired a missile into an automobile containing suspected al-Qaeda terrorists who were traveling in Yemen. The missile killed everyone in the car, including an American citizen named Ahmed Hijazi.

How did the CIA justify its Yemen assassination? The rationale has become a familiar one: since the United States is at war with the terrorists, it has the authority to kill suspected terrorists wherever it finds them. In the war on terrorism, as U.S. officials have reminded us so often, the entire world is a battlefield."

Just like we didn't have a duty to sit idly by while the Japanese bombed us, we don't have a duty to sit idly by while terrorists bomb us. If a person is pointing a gun at you, you don't have to wait until he shoots to act. You kill your attacker before he can kill you. And of course the government has to make this call. Wouldn't it be nice if you could ask the terrorist to hold off killing Americans while we set up a panel of experts to double-check if he or she is really a terrorist? Wouldn't it be nice if the terrorists put on uniforms so we could positively identify them? Ridiculous. If we hesitate or give terrorists better treatment because they don't wear uniforms, then no army we ever face in the future will wear uniforms. Terrorists, spies and agent provocateurs are especially dangerous because they blend in with the civilian population, and because of that we should treat them especially harshly. That's been true since the dawn of civilization because it's smart, and we need to continue that tradition. There should be standards. There should be checks. There should be reviews. But we must allow government agents to kill terrorists targeting the US if it's the only way to stop them. And this is flat out wrong:

"However, the fact is that terrorism is a crime. Everyone, including federal prosecutors and federal judges, will acknowledge that. It is denominated a crime in the federal criminal code. Accused terrorists are indicted by a federal grand jury and put on trial in a federal district court. They have included Zacarias Moussaoui, José Padilla, Ramzi Yousef, Timothy McVeigh, and many others."

That would be terrorist we aren't at war with. (And don't get me started on how Bush and Obama have dangerously blurred the line between acts of war and criminal actions.) The US Congress declared war on the people who attacked us on 9/11. That's al Qaeda. While terrorist acts committed by people not affiliated with al Qaeda are a crime, we're at war with al Qaeda and groups associated with al Qaeda. If you don't like it, get Congress to end the war like I think they should. But don't confuse the issue. We're at war. But even if we weren't at war, the president has the power to use force against people trying to kill us if that's the only option to stop an attack. If a foreign government can't or won't stop these terrorists, our government has to. And it's not like we can pick them up and put them in prison. Renditions are illegal, and we have no authority to arrest people outside the US. The only legal recourse we have is to kill them before they kill us.

FOREIGN POLICY:

What does Ahmadinejad have planned for Feb. 11? I bet it's not much to scare us. He's playing to his domestic audience.

POLITICS:

It looks like the Tea Partiers in Florida are trouncing big-government Republican Charlie Christ for the Republican Senate nomination. Along with Rand Paul in Kentucky, the grass roots Tea Party movement is taking it to the establishment Republicans. Republicans better figure this out.

Foreigners think the US is becoming politically unstable. That might be the best development we've had in politics since 1980. I think they said the same thing back then.
