Free kibbles

Protected by 150 thousand US military personnel, Iraqis exercise a freedom they have never known, and 10s of thousands exercise their right to assembly and march. Ironic they're marching in response to Iraq's biggest threat to that very freedom - Muqtada al Sadr, but they've joined the mainstream leftists of the free world in denouncing America and burning our flags.

Iran announces industrial phase of nuclear program. US 'concerned.' That and $2.50 will get you a cup of coffee. Advertising his martyr complex, Ahmadinejad claims he will support Iran's nuclear rights "to the end."

Lack of action has consequences too. Argentina is reasserting it's claim to the Falklands. Britain will either give them up, or Argentina will take them by force. The days of Britain fighting for itself are over. They're last great act on the world stage was stolen by Iran. Tripping over itself on the way off the stage, the navy has revoked the privilege of the hostages to sell their story, but not until 2 of them already have sold it. I guess those 2 will profit and the rest won't. John Bolton thinks the hostage crisis was a win-win for Iran.

US files two trade grievances against China. It's about time America took on China for it's protectionist trade practices, but the idea that America has to file a grievance with a supra-national organization in order to deal with China is patently absurd. This is direct evidence that the supra-national organizations are an obstacle to free trade, which is in America's best interests, and the US should never outsource authority over its own trade. We should get out of the WTO, NAFTA, and any other supra-national trade organization.

Scientist pans global warming alarmism.
There is no compelling evidence that the warming trend we've seen will amount to anything close to catastrophe. What most commentators—and many scientists—seem to miss is that the only thing we can say with certainly about climate is that it changes. The earth is always warming or cooling by as much as a few tenths of a degree a year; periods of constant average temperatures are rare. Looking back on the earth's climate history, it's apparent that there's no such thing as an optimal temperature—a climate at which everything is just right. The current alarm rests on the false assumption not only that we live in a perfect world, temperaturewise, but also that our warming forecasts for the year 2040 are somehow more reliable than the weatherman's forecast for next week.
Bishops warn of revolt in Zimbabwe.

Bush still claims that illegal aliens do work Americans won't do. Can he be more wrong or insulting? Americans won't do those jobs for nearly as low of wages as illegal immigrants, which means that illegal immigrants are hurting the wages of everybody. We don't need illegal immigrants. We don't need guest workers. If we need more workers, we can allow more legal immigrants to come here. We should aggressively prosecute employers of illegal immigrants, dry up the jobs and benefits, and most illegals will go home. We cannot reward gate-crashers with citizenship. Chain migration could significantly multiply the number of 12 million new citizens if gate-crashers receive citizenship.

Professor claims put on terror watch list because of lecture speaking out against President Bush. I would like to hear the other side of that story, but that's the problem with the terror watch list. There is no legal recourse to investigate why somebody was added and to remove those added by mistake.

Disney legalizes gay marriage.

The new ERA is unnecessary, as was the old one. Women have equal rights, and they got them despite amending the Constitution.

Bush claims his economy is better than Clinton's. Neither is as good as both want us to believe. Clintons was based on rampant corporate fraud, and Bush's is based on government driven increases in health care and education costs. Those reasons are all houses of cards.

The decline of America - PA has 1.4 million outstanding arrest warrants. This is nation is being crushed under the weight of its laws. We have to reduce the size and scope of government before it steamrollers us.

The decline of America - bedbug outbreaks in all 50 states.

Republican Sen. DeMint could be a GOP rising star. All I care is that he fights excessive government spending, and that's more than most (all?).

Grim vision of the future. As energy and technology get cheaper, it becomes easier for one lunatic to cause mass destruction.

How do you define the words "main stream leftist"? The words "mainstream leftist" mean to me the people who represent the majority of leftist thought of current times. I'd say the majority of them haven't been burning our flags- well, the denouncing part is right but don't you spend a lot of your time criticizing and denouncing GW?

There's a difference between denouncing America and denouncing our government- you know that. One is fighting words, the other is healthy dissent. One the mainstream liberals are doing, one they are only accused of doing.

Then again, depends on what your meaning of "denouncing" something is."

Well, isn't GW also a bit of an end-times guy- getting involved in the middle east so much and doing so much that involves the Israelis? Not saying he wants to blow the world to heaven and bring about the Second Coming or anything, but he is a bit of a fan of the last book in the bible. But still- this basically means still no change in the situation. Arrgh!

Well, propose a better way that doesn't involve a supra-national organization to do so and I'll consider it, heck- maybe even get on my soap box for it. Until then...

Yeah, I think we all want accountability- but this is Bush we're talking about, LIW.

Hmm... I'm not sure if I agree with you. You got the statistics on how much women get paid vs men, women employment, etc.? I don't have them with me right here.

"The decline of America - PA has 1.4 million outstanding arrest warrants. This is nation is being crushed under the weight of its laws. We have to reduce the size and scope of government before it steamrollers us."

Or we could just prevent the people from committing the crimes in the first place, or actually track down people with warrants effectively.

"The decline of America - bedbug outbreaks in all 50 states."

Great. 68% of all bedbug infestations require three or more treatments(so sayeth a University Of Massachusetts survey.)Not to mention the way bedbugs are exterminated involves lots of chemicals in our air and water... oy.

The article fails to mention that flashmobs have been around for a long time and are generally peaceful. Also, it fails to account that as new weapons are developed so are new defenses- not to mention the already existing defenses against EMPs.

  2. Oh. I forgot Zimbabwe. Seems the whole world is forgetting Zimbabwe. Mugabe should be tried for crimes against humanity.

Operation Murambatsvina- that just makes me sick.
