One the things that happens when government takes over the food supply is it empowers companies to use beaver anal secretions as a substitute for vanilla. If a company did that in a free market, it would immediately go bankrupt, but government enables this to become widespread, so any economic response is minor.
Drones to monitor crops. Why wasn't this happening already? People have been flying remote control airplanes, since I was a kid.
