Police State

Apparently it's bad form to say police are looking for a dark-skinned male as a suspect in the Boston bombing, but it's perfectly fine to say they're looking for a white male. I don't get it. Give us a full description.

Saudi student injured in Boston bombing who was person of interest to be deported for national security reasons next Tuesday. There's a conspiracy associated with this and with the Saudi Foreign Minister meeting Obama in an unscheduled and therefore undocumented meeting.

The FBI finally releases video of the two suspects. My guess is they have better pictures than this, because these are not very good. They identified these guys by cell phone records, so they know who they are. Where are the names? Where are the good pictures? I'm not the only one asking. This investigation still stinks. Now it seems the FBI failed to identify these guys with cell phone records. Another discrepancy. The cops got pictures from private videos now their asking private citizens to identify the people. Why do we pay them again?

The FBI contacted law enforcement agencies about info on two other guys with bags as persons of interest. The New York Post posted pictures of those guys. Now they are in hiding because people think they are the bombers. This investigation is a super-fiasco.

Purchase of gold shows difference between a relatively free country like Hong Kong and a tyrannical country like the US:
"From a friend:
I've been taking this opportunity to stock up on some yellow metal. Went to Hang Seng bullion counter yesterday. The line was out the door. It took an hour wait to see a teller. When I asked if people were buying in the dip or selling in panic, she told me that they haven't had once ounce of gold sold back to them all day. She told me they have sold more gold in 24 hrs than they normally do in 3 months. Yes, there was a lot of extra security. The guy in front of me bought over $1 million USD in gold. He paid in cash and walked out of the door with the bullion in a Nike bag. Amazing.
UPDATE from Scott Weisman
Lew, notice how a $1M cash transaction didn't even draw any scrutiny (at least, it doesn't sound like it) in a sane country.
Here, the man would be arrested and jailed just for having his own money in cash. Oh, and the cash would be stolen."
That's the kind of security you get in free countries.

Micro-drones will soon be in every house. We are going to see a drone versus anti-drone arms race.
