He resigned last week after being told to do so by Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. on the day President Obama was reelected."So much for the baloney about him doing the right thing. So this article blames the Republicans for his resignation.

Mueller and Holder knew about this in August. I'm sure Obama knew about it then too. But once a Republican found out about it, they knew they couldn't keep it secret. This is another abuse.
Cantor contacted FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III on Oct. 31, and a week later Clapper told Petraeus he needed to resign.
“I don’t know if it would have taken this course without Cantor,” a person close to the inquiry said."
Gomer Pyle wasn't this big of a screw up. Man I wish I had thought of that line.
