Boortz misstates why government requires licenses.
"For the most part, government licenses exist for the purposes of giving some pencil-pushing bureaucrat something to do in order to justify their existence."
No. The main reason government licenses exist is to restrict entry into certain economic activities. This reduces the supply of those activities so the people who work in them can enjoy artificially inflated incomes.
