SOCIALISM:

Unions force American Airlines into bankruptcy. This is why I say unions are bad for workers. They destroy companies and put union workers out of work.

Socialists in England strike in support of infinite money. That's not going to work out for them.

ECONOMY:

Apple is not part of America's unemployment problem. That's just stupid. Economic ignorance like this is at the heart of America's unemployment problem.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

The Fed leads a coordinated inflation effort to save the eurozone, but this will only make things worse.
"Driving the rally was a coordinated move by the U.S. Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the central banks of Canada, Britain, Japan and Switzerland to lower the cost of existing dollar swap lines to prevent a liquidity squeeze."
The entire western world is heading down the road of the Weimar Republic and Zimbabwe.

HEALTH CARE:

Obama has handed out thousands of health care waivers including waiver to many states, but he rejected waivers for two states controlled by Republicans. They all do it. FEMA money is probably the most obvious case.

Only government would enable corporations to inject dangerous levels of arsenic into apple juice. This could not happen in a free society. Only the coercive and violent power of government could do this.

Patent on Lipitor expires. I completely disagree with the assessment in this article. I believe that since Lipitor is no longer tethered and protected by the state, this will open a huge new door to serious attacks on the Standard American Diet (SAD) and the cholesterol myth. This is an opportunity for reasoned analysis that could break the back of the USDA-FDA-government-corporate non-food and non-health care establishment. This might signal the most powerful opportunity healthy food activists have ever had to attack the SAD and its consequences.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

The global warming frauds who say that warming will devastate the planet are rooting for warming. This is disgraced CRU chief Phil Jones:
"Tim, Chris, I hope you’re not right about the lack of warming lasting till about 2020.I seem to be getting an email a week from skeptics saying where’s the warming gone. I know the warming is on the decadal scale, but it would be nice to wear their smug grins away."
I'm telling you, the people who have taken over the environmental movement are horrible people. They hate their fellow men. They'd like to see most of us live in squalor then die, except for them, their cronies and enough peasants to keep them living in the lifestyle to which they've become accustomed.

Global warming frauds scare children by asking "Where will Santa Live?" if the north pole melts. You can't make this stuff up.

Patent on Lipitor expires. I completely disagree with the assessment in this article. I believe that since Lipitor is no longer tethered and protected by the state, this will open the door to serious attacks on the Standard American Diet and the cholesterol myth. This is an opportunity for reasoned analysis that could break the back of the USDA-FDA-government-corporate non-food and non-health care establishment.

POLICE STATE:

In a great reminder of the ubiquitous corruption of government, former sheriff of the year busted for trading drugs for sex. They all do it.

Plan to reduce the TSA assaults of travelling US troops, but not you and me. And you thought the government worked for us, not vice-versa. All you have to do is look at your paycheck to realize that you work for the government, not vice-versa.

WAR:

The US invasion of Iraq has turned Baghdad into the worst city on the planet.

Gang infiltration of the US military.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Britain expels Iranian diplomats and withdraws all personnel from Iranian embassy. It seems every day we get closer to war with Iran.

POLITICS:

Police clear out Occupy protesters in LA and Philadelphia. Democrats have realized this movement is exposing leftism for what it is: a greedy, violent, selfish ideology which will cost them votes in upcoming elections.

Wayne Allen Root describes the vast majority of the 1 percent, the people who made their money through own hard work, not rich daddies, husbands or connects to government.

Obama sets record for low approval rating, surpassing Jimmy Carter. He earned it.

Walter Block hosts Ron Paul at Loyola University.

Barney Frank worked his ass off to enrich himself at the expense of the American people, and now that the consequences of his looting are becoming clear, he's abandoning the ship he helped to sink. Good riddance.

Ron Paul barred from attending Israeli organization's political kiss-ass session on Pearl Harbor Day. You can't make this stuff up.

MEDIA:

Author claims debates are welfare for Ron Paul and Rick Perry. This leftist doesn't even know what welfare is. And I wonder how he singles out Paul, who consistently polls in double digits, but leaves out the real hangers on like Bachmann and Santorum. I agree this is a new level of stupid.

Government hacks people all the time, so why are people so upset about a little newspaper doing the same? Sure it's unethical, but it's unethical no matter who does it.

MISC:

A lot of times we think the disconnect between the good, normal people of the country and the corrupt, oppressive elite is a function of geography. In other words, the people in fly-over country are good people and the people in Washington are bad. Believing this is a mistake. It fails to grasp that all government, because it is based on coercion and violence, is corrupting. So federal government employees aren't the only corrupt government employees. State and local government officials are corrupted as well. This story about donkeys illustrates this point:
"To the residents of this West Texas city, burros are friendly, intelligent animals that make good pets and are engrained in this country's history. To state park officials, they're a destructive, invasive menace that cross over from Mexico with disease, foul streams, threaten native plants and wildlife and should be eliminated. So far, park rangers have shot and killed more than 120 of the beasts."
Deadly disconnect! Government likes to pretend it protects species and people but as this story illustrates, government is the enemy of wildlife and people.

SOCIALISM:

Bush's Treasury Secretary, Hank Paulson, gave his cronies a heads up to get out of Fannie and Freddie stocks before the government socialized the GSEs, wiping out their stock. This is a good reminder that government exists to enrich and protect the super-rich at the expense of the people.

The National Labor Relations Board was never an independent referee. Nothing in government is independent.

TAX AND SPEND:

The majority of Republicans have always supported cutting the payroll tax despite the attempts by the media to pretend otherwise. That's a bunch of baloney to fuel Obama's class warfare campaign.
"Some analysts estimate the payroll tax cut is estimated to boost economic growth by as much as 1.5 percentage points."
If tax cuts boost the economy, why are Democrats and their media allies trying to raise taxes? They pretend raising taxes on the rich won't harm the economy, but they can't have it both ways. Taxes influence behavior and therefore the economy.

HEALTH CARE:

The government diet makes kids fat, then the government takes them away from their parents.

First the government steals our money to make people fat and sick, then they steal our money for obesity prevention.
"Medicare announced Tuesday it will pay for screenings and preventive services to help recipients curb obesity and the medical ailments associated with it, primarily heart disease, strokes and diabetes."
If we saved our money by abolishing the USDA and the FDA, we wouldn't be obese, and we'd be far wealthier, but no. We're the stupidest people in the world.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

The feds plan to destroy a small beach town to save it from global warming.

Oregon museum cancels panel because skeptics were on it. They can't win a debate against them, so they have to silence them.

POLICE STATE:

The media refuse to call the Norwegian man who killed dozens of youths at a camp a terrorist even though he committed mass murder for political reasons. Also, a court has ruled the man insane. You don't see Muslim terrorists ruled insane.

You can expect to see drones everywhere monitoring your every move. I don't mind replacing manned aircraft with unmanned aircraft for chasing criminals, monitoring pipelines or crop dusting, but that's just the selling point. The reality is police and the feds will use them to monitor us every minute of every day. And don't think they'll only monitor us when we're outside. They'll equip the drones with technology that sees through roofs and walls, and they'll monitor us in our homes, businesses and everywhere else.

American ex-pat explains why Mexico is more free than America. The United States of Prisons.

WAR:

The terrible costs of the Iraq war.

In a prediction of more war and economic collapse, we get this sad truth:
"One would think such a totally failed president would be easy to defeat. Given an historic opportunity, the Republican Party has put before the electorate the most amazingly stupid and vile collection of prospects, with the exception of Ron Paul who does not have the party’s support, that Americans have ever seen."
I'm sure there have been worse candidates, but it's hard to imagine a worse field of candidates with the exception of Ron Paul. Like I said before, Ron Paul is far and away the most electable of the bunch. He'd wipe the floor with Obama. But the accomplice press of both parties wants us to think Paul is un-electable while the rest are. They're turning Americans upside down. And given what we saw in those debates, any Republican, other than Paul, will be as bad or worse than Obama. They will start new wars and expand the police state like Obama. They're going to pass more oppressive laws and expand the size and scope of government like Obama. If Ron Paul doesn't win the nomination, our society will continue to collapse at an accelerating rate. This is an interesting theory:
"The day prior to Thanksgiving also brought another extraordinary development--the failure of a German government bond auction, an unparalleled event. Why would Germany, the only member of the EU with financial rectitude, not be able to sell 35% of its offerings of 10-year bonds? Germany has no debt problems, and its economy is expected by EU and US authorities to bear the lion’s share of the bailout of the EU member countries that do lack financial rectitude.I suspect that the answer to this question is that the failure of the German government’s bond auction was orchestrated by the US, by EU authorities, especially the European Central Bank, and private banks in order to punish Germany for obstructing the purchase of EU member countries’ sovereign debt by the European Central Bank."
I don't put anything past these people anymore.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Iranians sack the British embassy in response to new sanctions.

How western intelligence agents are tearing Syria apart to weaken Iran.

POLITICS:

Is Newt for real or just the latest flash in the pan?

The Occupiers have cost Americans way more than $13 million.

Democrats abandoning Obama.
"President Obama's cheerleaders are starting to peel away along with his approval ratings, and it's a fascinating sight to behold. They offer different reasons, but they all boil down to one obvious thing -- Obama is first and foremost about Obama -- and one less obvious: He has been a failed president.Democratic pollsters Pat Caddell and Doug Schoen, admittedly more centrist than most of their Democratic counterparts, penned an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal urging Obama "to abandon his candidacy for re-election."The authors conclude that the only way Obama could possibly win in 2012 would be "to wage the most negative campaign in history," because he has no successful record to run on.If he would happen to win in that way, he wouldn't be able to govern, they say, so he should step aside and allow Hillary Clinton to run."
Maybe that's why we just saw that hagiography on Hillary Clinton.

More evidence that the sexual assault charges against DSK were the result of a political hit.
"The article, due to be published on Saturday, notably questions whether a missing BlackBerry phone had been hacked by Strauss-Kahn's political rivals. It quotes unnamed sources close to Strauss-Kahn saying that he had been warned in a text message the day of his arrest that an email he'd sent to his wife from the BlackBerry had been read at the offices of Sarkozy's UMP party in Paris. The article also reports that a security camera caught the hotel's head engineer, Brian Yearwood, high-fiving another man and appearing to dance in celebration, near to the maid, as she awaited the arrival of police."
Like I said, I don't put anything past these people anymore. Roman emperors were more trustworthy.

The Violence and Greed of Leftists

The Violence and Greed of Leftists
by Mark Luedtke

It’s self-evident that only one person can control a piece of property at any given time. Otherwise conflicts occur. Therefore there’s no such thing as public property. That’s a fiction created by government to manipulate the people. There is only privately owned property and government owned property. Further, anybody who seizes control of property owned by another is committing an act of aggression against the property owner. That’s a crime for non-government agents and should be for them too.

Seizing control of the property of others is the primary tactic of the Occupy protesters. That’s why it’s called Occupy. From the Occupy Wall Street protesters seizing control of Zuccotti Park to the Occupy Dayton movement squatting in Courthouse Square, the Occupiers initiated aggression against property owners. Claims of the peaceful intentions of Occupy protesters are hogwash because all are committing aggression against property owners. Some argue that evicting them would violate their freedom of speech. That’s hogwash too. Freedom of speech does not grant one the power to seize property or even access to a forum. They can protest on their own property.

This aggression should come as no surprise. Leftism is an inherently violent and greedy ideology. The goal of leftists is to enrich themselves by seizing the property of others through force, either directly or indirectly by getting government to do the violent work. That’s why it was easy to predict that violence would run rampant in Occupy camps, which it did.

In a free society, one ordered by property rights and with law based on the non-aggression principle, this aggression could not stand. Property owners would evict the squatters and obtain restitution through the courts for any costs incurred. But we don’t live in a free society. We live in a society dis-ordered by government coercion and violence to advance the economic interests of politicians and their cronies. The Montgomery County Commissioners calculated they could buy the votes of Occupy Dayton supporters by allowing the protesters to squat in Courthouse Square, but their self-serving plan backfired when the squatters refused to leave during the Grand Illumination unless the government met their demands. This illustrates how government coercion creates conflict, chaos and crime, not law and order as our rulers pretend.

The Downtown Dayton Partnership, which obtained permission to put on the Grand Illumination, asked the protesters to move their tents to Dave Hall Plaza during the event, but the protesters refused and made a counter demand that Montgomery County and Dayton governments and Downtown Dayton Partnership banks stop all foreclosures and sheriff’s auctions. That was an attack on voluntary contracts. The protesters quickly retreated to a demand for access to electricity for which they will pay.

I recently visited Courthouse Square to get the protester’s side of the story. The lone protester on the street was Mike Monett who explained the position of the majority, “Most of the people said this is a revolution. We have to stand up to the people in power and let them know they’ve done a bad job of managing the economy and the country. We can’t just back down when they ask us to move. So the big debate now is what are we going to look like on that night. Are we going to look like a messy hobo camp or are we going to have the place looking classy? Are we going to give candy to kids or be a bunch of ugly people with anonymous masks on scaring the kids? That’s a big debate going on internally.”

Another handful of protesters behind the tent ate three pizzas that had been donated by a passerby. That snapshot I witnessed perfectly captured the universal outcome produced by socialist incentives: one guy laboring while the rest enjoyed the fruits of his labor. A pizza-eating protester told me the protest was about love, but no protest based on seizing the property of others is about love. Only greed.

I share the frustration of the Occupiers, but I condemn their aggression and violent goals. Plus, they’re protesting the wrong target. Government is the problem, not business. As long as politicians control the power to steal our property and order us around at the point of the government’s gun, they will sell that power to the highest bidder to advance their personal economic interests. Others will buy it to advance their economic interests. That’s human nature. Protesting human nature is as futile as protesting the sun for rising in the east. The solution to the problems the Occupiers see is to take away government’s powers of coercion and violence, not to increase them.

Overnight last week the federal government co-opted local law enforcement in 18 cities and brutally shutdown Occupy protests in them. President Obama must have realized the ubiquitous leftist violence was harming his re-election chances. You might think this frightening violation of the principle that police answer to local people, not the feds, would prompt the Occupiers to realize government is the problem, but apparently not. Until the Occupiers reject the aggression and violence inherent in leftist ideology, they will remain a fringe group making Americans’ problems worse, not better.

Original Class of the NFL

Original Class of the NFL
by Mark Luedtke

The World Series is over, NBA owners have locked out the players and Thanksgiving is fast approaching. For Ohio sports fans that means it’s time for football, football and more football. Especially NFL football. The NFL is far and away the most popular sports league in the US, and it seems like it’s been around forever. And nowhere is football bigger than in Ohio. Football is so big here that the NFL, originally named the American Professional Football Conference, was created in Canton, Ohio in 1920, and the first game was played in Dayton at Triangle Park.

Originally the league included exclusively Ohio teams, but after just two months, it expanded to include teams from New York, Michigan and Illinois. Jim Thorpe, the man who won Olympic gold medals in 1912, played professional baseball and basketball, and played for and coached the Canton Bulldogs in the new league, was named president of the new league.

Dayton’s football team was founded in 1913 by basketball players from St. Mary’s College, now the University of Dayton. In 1916 Carl Storck took over the team and filled it out with employees of Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company, the Dayton Metal Products Company, and the Domestic Engineering Company. By 1920 the team had changed its name to the Dayton Triangles, named after Triangle Park, and they were preparing to play the inaugural NFL game against their main rival, the Columbus Pan Handles. The Pan Handles took their name from a train route connecting Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis.

Ohioans’ industry and love of football is illustrated by several dates. The Great Flood was in 1913, but the Triangles were founded and won the city league that year. The Triangles won the Ohio League in 1918 during WWI and the world-wide flu epidemic. And the first NFL game was played in 1920 during the short but deep post-WWI recession.

While this was professional football - Jim Thorpe earned a tremendous $250 per game - it wasn’t quite the same game we know today. College football was much bigger than professional football, and professional football wasn’t exactly a universally respected profession. The Friday, October 2 Dayton Evening Herald offers some insight, “When the Triangles stack up against the Pan Handles Sunday afternoon at Triangle park, they will find pitted against them a former Ohio State player. The fellow’s name is Reeves, at least that is the name he is playing under, because of parental objection to professional football. He is an end and was classed as one of the best in the western conference. He played on the State team for three years and completed his course last June. Followers of Ohio State activities should be able to tell who the new Pan Handle end is.”

The Triangles had their own big-time college player to boost their chances. “Chuck Helvie, former Hoosier star and who has played in a Triangle uniform, will be back again this season. He wrote Carl Storck that he would be in for Sunday’s game, that he is in good shape and ready to do battle.” It seems bringing in ringers was common practice. “Two other out-of-town men will be here for the game and will tote the ball for the Triangles. George Rondebush will play a half back and will come here directly from Oberlin where is to referee the game Saturday. Mike Houser, who is managing a jewelry store in a city of Kentucky, will be here to take his place at tackle.”

The Herald reports that this rivalry game to kick off the new league was a popular attraction. “Nishaus & Dohse report the seat sale large and such is the case at the various Triangle factories. If a good football day can be had the park should be swarmed with fans who want to get their first glimpse of the Triangles this season and also a look at the strong Pan Handle combination.” The Saturday paper sported the huge headline: “TRIANGLES - PAN HANDLES TO OPEN SUNDAY”.

The Herald’s headline on Monday trumpeted the tale, “LARGE CROWD SEES LOCAL TEAM HUMBLE COLUMBUS 11”. The Herald describes a struggle between titans, “The Pan Handles came here with the best team they ever turned out and it is mighty fortunate the Triangles were so well fortified. The game was cleanly played, neither side resorting to any rough tactics and there wasn’t one argument in the entire game. Time was taken out but on few occasions, so the game was all that could be asked in football.” The Triangles defeated the Pan Handles 14 - 0 with a score in the third quarter and fourth quarter heroics. “The [punt] sailed over Bacon’s head, and he ran around catching it on the bounce. He started toward the Pan Handle goal from his own thirty-five yard line. He outran the two nearest men, and then Abrell cut down another foe. Bacon shook off another tackler and dodged two more, and with the field clear he outran the Pan Handle defensive quarter, and negotiated the sixty-five yards for the touchdown.”

The league changed its name to the NFL in 1922 and moved to Columbus. The Dayton Triangles lineage can be traced to the Indianapolis Colts. And while the game has certainly evolved for the better, the Herald reports at least one aspect was superior back then, “The Triangles showed up well. They were pitted against a strong team, but they displayed a great deal of class.”

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Principle orders student write an apology to Kansas governor for rude statement. Apparently they don't teach freedom of speech in Kansas.
"A Brownback staffer had notified the principal, she said."
Nothing like a little intimidation from the governor to destroy free speech rights. How did the governor find out about this? Does he have somebody monitoring all twitter accounts? Or is DHS monitoring them, and did it notify the governor?

Open source, distributed software seeks to take the power away from corporate search engines.

ECONOMY:

Have you ever thought that the US population in general is clueless? Here's a little something to back that up:
"Half of Americans hit the shops as US stocks record worst week since the Great Depression"
And we wonder why we have the outrageously terrible government we have.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

Remember when Americans were outraged that Congress stole $700 billion from us to bail out Wall Street? Now we know that the Fed stole $7.77 trillion, over ten times as much, for the same purpose. It's important to realize that both parties support this invisible theft. Bush appointed Bernanke. Obama re-appointed Bernanke. The two parties are partners in stealing us blind. They play a game of divide and conquer in front of the cameras, arguing over trivial baloney, but behind the scene they lock arms, steal our money, sing Kumbaya and laugh all the way to the bank with the hookers, pot and cocaine they buy with our tax dollars.
"Some figure that the Fed was just doing its job. “Supporting financial-market stability in times of extreme market stress is a core function of central banks,” says William B. English, director of the Fed’s Division of Monetary Affairs. “Our lending programs served to prevent a collapse of the financial system and to keep credit flowing to American families and businesses.”Phillip Swagel, a professor of international economic policy at the University of Maryland, says the Fed got it right and should be praised.
Then why was the Fed and the banks so tight-lipped about this whole operation?
Maybe because not only did the bailout let the beat go on for the big banks, but has allowed the banks to get even bigger. Total assets held by the six biggest U.S. banks increased 39 percent to $9.5 trillion on Sept. 30, 2011, from $6.8 trillion on the same day in 2006, according to Fed data."
Oh yeah. That's getting it right if by getting it right you mean robbing Americans into poverty to enrich the banksters. But that's why the Fed was created, so in that sense, it did get it right. The Rockefellers and Gettys would be proud.

EDUCATION:

Maybe kids wouldn't need to be vaccinated if they were breast fed like they're supposed to be and then not forced like cattle into government indoctrination centers.

HEALTH CARE:

For years I have frequently warned about the danger of DNA documentation. Sure, there are benefits, but the dangers are obscene. Here's an example:
""A Dutch researcher has created a virus with the potential to kill half of the planet's population. Now, researchers and experts in bioterrorism debate whether it is a good idea to publish the virus creation 'recipe'. However, several voices argue that such research should have not happened in the first place. The virus is a strain of avian influenza H5N1 genetically modified to be extremely contagious ... created by researcher Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Center Rotterdam, Netherlands. The work was first presented at a conference dedicated to influenza, that took place in September in Malta"
The capacity to destroy grows tremendously faster than the capacity to heal.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Canada to withdraw from Kyoto protocol. Smart.

POLICE STATE:

Senate to vote to empower the president to use the military to imprison anybody in the world in any place in the world on his own authority, including American citizens in America. Remember when liberals pretended they didn't like Bush imprisoning foreigners indefinitely? They don't care when Obama imprisons Americans indefinitely. Remember when conservatives pretended to support the Constitution? They don't care either.

WAR:

The more we hear about this NATO attack on Pakistani forces, the worse it sounds.
"The NATO airstrikes that killed 24 Pakistani soldiers lasted almost two hours and continued even after Pakistani commanders had pleaded with coalition forces to stop, the army claimed Monday in charges that could further inflame anger in Pakistan."
Most Americans realize nothing good can come from this war in Afghanistan, but let's hope more realize it now and we can end it. Orwell would be proud of this part:
"NATO has described the incident as "tragic and unintended" and has promised a full investigation."
They unintentionally bombed those bases for two hours.

POLITICS:

Corrupt Barney Frank is retiring thanks to redistricting. Who says nothing good comes from redistricting?

The DNC runs ads that show why Romney is the least electable of the Republican candidates.
"The DNC's ad, "Mitt vs. Mitt", depicts Romney making claims both supporting and opposing abortion rights, and also shows him saying he's "glad to hear" the president talking up the health care policy he helped enact in Massachusetts when he was governor there."
This isn't rocket science. Mitt has supported Democrat policies his entire political career, and his phony pretense otherwise makes him a loser. In fact, the establishment's support of Romney stinks of conspiracy to re-elect Obama.

Ron Paul is poised to win Iowa.

Top 10 reasons why the mafia is superior to the state.

LOCAL:

County commissioners may ban camping at Courthouse Square in response to the aggression of the Occupy Dayton people. I hope my article influenced this decision. It's sad that these enemies of private property are just realizing the meaning of property rights. The sooner we take away government's power over property, the sooner well enjoy the tremendous wealth, health and security that government destroys. The ironic part is that the Occupiers and the government are on the same side in destroying property rights, but the failure of both to realize it have put them in conflict.

Beavercreek voters rejected new education taxes twice in 2011. Naturally, the education bureaucrats bowed to the will of the people and cut the most gratuitous programs. Ha! Who am I kidding. Instead, they propose another tax levy in 2012. Do you notice how, however often the people reject the growth of government, the government always comes back and pushes for more until it gets it? And once it gets it, it pushes for even more until it gets that? And so on? Never do people incrementally reduce government election after election. This is a perfect example of how, no matter what we want or destructive government is, it continues to grow because that advances the personal, economic interests of the people who work for government and those who profit from government.

State government is stealing $750,000 from taxpayers and handing it over to a developer in Dayton to develop an office building. This is corporate welfare like any other. If this investment made sense for the people of Dayton, this developer would fund it himself.

Will the US start a war with Pakistan before or after Syria?

NATO allies are ramping up for war in Syria just like they ramped up for war with Libya. At the same time NATO forces killed 24+ Pakistani troops in Pakistan, claiming those troops first fired on NATO troops across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. The war-mongers are in ecstasy. But this begs the question...

Will the US start a war with Pakistan before or after Syria?

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Climategate 2 emails just keep on giving.
"Steve Hilton, the Prime Minister’s director of strategy and ‘green guru’, is the latest person to admit to doubts about climate change. ‘I’m not sure I believe in it,’ he announced at a meeting of the Energy Department, prompting one aide to blurt out: ‘Did I just hear that correctly?’"
And
"Britain’s leading green activist research centre spent £15,000 on seminars for top BBC executives  in an apparent bid to block climate change sceptics from the airwaves, a vast new cache of leaked ‘Climategate’ emails has revealed."
That's tax dollars their spending to do this because all this pseudo-research is funded by government. Here's why I call this global warming research pseudo-science:
"You and I have been interacting, albeit at a distance, since I first asked you for your data some five years ago. I asked for your data in part because I was astounded by your answer to Warwick Hughes when he asked for the same data. You replied to Warwick at that time,“Why should I make the data available to you, when your aim is to try and find something wrong with it?”"
The frauds are not engaging in the scientific method. Instead, they are intentionally thwarting the scientific method. Therefore, while their research has the appearance of science, it is not science. It is political activism posing as science. In other words, it's a pseudo-science and the people engaging in it or pseudo-scientists.

Problems with government mandated carbon trading schemes? Who would have guessed?

FOREIGN POLICY:

Thanks to decades of US government aggression in the Middle East, Islamists win elections in Morocco. Think about how much better off we'd be if Americans had simply engaged Middle Easterners in mutually beneficial trade for all those decades instead of allowing our government to prop up dictators and bomb them.

WAR:

Yesterday I said it seemed unlikely the NATO attack on Pakistani forces was a mistake. Today we learn that it was intentional, reportedly prompted by Pakistani forces firing on NATO ground forces. Pakistan denies.
"NATO officials have complained that insurgents fire from across the poorly defined frontier, often from positions close to Pakistani soldiers, who have been accused of tolerating or supporting them."
Despite this, NATO attacked the Pakistani bases. What is obvious is, just as government intervention in our lives and economy creates chaos, crime and death at home, it does the same abroad. Our government's foreign policy of aggression and war is making enemies faster than our troops can take them out, and the result is we are all less safe.

POLITICS:

Republican establishment icon Peggy Noonan supports Ron Paul's foreign policy. If Paul can make inroads with the establishment on foreign policy, he could win the nomination.

The NATO bombing of Pakistani soldiers prompted one person to ask if Ron Paul has been right all along. The video from 2008 shows he has been.

German bond rates are starting to rise, and the pressure on the ECB to print money and buy them is increasing.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Yesterday I explained that big corporations are effectively government bureaucracies: agents of the state. This Climategate 2 email shows that green groups are also agents of the state:
"In The Hague, we saw for the first time organized disruption of the conduct of negotiation and publicly staged confrontations. While organized and deeply committed environmental activism has long been an important part of the UNFCCC process through major groups suchas NRDC, EDF/ED, WWF and Greenpeace, they have operated within the structure as constructive participants in the policy-setting process, along with industry."
And...
"At The Hague, this “inside” role was supplemented by hundreds of young, relatively naïve demonstrators brought in specifically to energize the environmental presence and confront the process. Even some within the ranks of the more established participants — while disavowing the takeover of the negotiating room — saw fit to publicly offer Minister Pronk and the UNFCCC Secretariate a veiled threat of “Seattle” if the process failed to deliver."
This implies that the state corrupts every special interest group into an agent.

US forces kill 26 Pakistani troops on border with Afghanistan. NATO claims it was a mistake by close air support. That seems hard to believe. Pakistan cuts off supplies to US troops in Afghanistan in response and demands US vacate CIA drone base.

MISC:

More hints at corruption in the MS Global bankruptcy process.

Archaeologists have discovered a second Mayan prophesy predicting the end of the world next December. Western may collapse around then.

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Senator wants Google to police terrorist blogs. This is a good reminder that giant corporations are effectively government bureaucracies. They're not businesses as we know businesses.

TAX AND SPEND:

Which global debt time bomb will explode first: the US or Europe? Peter Schiff contrasts German Chancellor Merkel's insistence that the ECB not destroy the euro through the printing press - she must still remember the Weimar Republic - with the US government policy of print, print and print some more until the dollar dies. The problem is the EU put bankers in charge of both Greece and Spain, so Merkel, while in the driver's seat because of Germany's position as the strongest economy in Europe, is being surrounded by bankers. And Greece's new banker-PM said that Greece would make no more budget cuts. So it looks like its Merkel against the bankers, and the bankers are seizing more power. Ironically,
"the prospect of sovereign default in Europe is driving "safe" haven demand for the dollar. So contrary to the political blame game, Europe's problems are actually providing a temporary boost to America's bubble economy."
That can't last, and Americans will suffer tremendous pain when the fiscal reality hits home. Italy's ten year rates climb to 7.3 percent.
"Still, Italy was not the only member of the 17-nation eurozone to have a disappointing auction this week. Even Germany — the region's strongest economy and the main funder of eurozone bailouts — failed to raise all the money it sought Wednesday, its worst auction result in decades. Spain also saw its borrowing rates ratchet sharply higher, even after a landslide victory for the conservative Popular Party, which has made getting a reduction in Spain's borrowing levels its top priority.European debt crisis contagion also hit Hungary and Belgium Friday. Moody's Investors Service downgraded Hungary's sovereign debt to junk status, a decision that the government hotly criticized. Hungary is not a member of the eurozone, but trades with many eurozone members. Meanwhile, Standard & Poor's ratings agency downgraded long-term Belgian debt a notch, citing a threat to its exports."
Let's hope Merkel holds firm against the printing press. Somebody has to be sane, and it sure isn't US politicians or bankers anywhere.

Total US debt is $52 trillion.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

Fed economists say the chance of a double-dip recession in 2012 is over 50 percent.

HEALTH CARE:

Australian government to deny benefits to families that don't vaccinate children. This is how government uses stolen money and tax policy to tyrannize.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Scientists lose massive caribou herd, blame global warming. Inuit explain caribou move. Scientists find caribou herd where Inuit said to look. The government take-over of science is making us stupider.

New study forces global warming alarmists to admit that climate is not as sensitive to CO2 as they previously claimed. But we've known is true all along because if climate was as sensitive as they claimed, the earth would have experienced runaway global warming millions or billions of years in the past.

I've long explained that the coercive nature of government empowers the worst people to rise to the top and corrupts them all. This is true with scientists, or more accurately pseudo-scientists. Climategate 2 email reveals Michael Mann criticized by alarmist.
"Edward Cook tells Phil Jones that Mike Mann is “serious enemy” and “vindictive”. Mike Mann had criticized his work. Apparently Mann went “a little crazy” over a paper showing the Medeival Warm Period exists."
Disgraced CRU head Phil Jones admits he can't plot a trend in Excel, a basic scientific skill.

Example of how the frauds stack panels against skeptics.

WAR:

Now the French are proposing a "humanitarian corridor" into Syria from Turkey. That's code for an invasion route. These guys fooled so many people with their phony claims of the humanitarian mission in Libya, it's the new go-to lie. Turkey is a NATO ally, so it's a natural supply point for NATO invasion forces.

FOREIGN POLICY:

The Egyptian military has named a former Mubarak regime member as PM and given him greater powers. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

LOCAL:

Whenever the people fail to pass a levy requested by bureaucrats, the bureaucrats punish the people by ending popular services instead of cutting bureaucrats to make ends meet.
"The West Carrollton Moraine Basketball Association has been forced to cancel its current recreational season after the West Carrollton School Districts closed its school buildings immediately after school following defeat of its Nov. 8 levy.Boy Scout troops, Taekwondo classes and other community groups left homeless by the closings are scrambling to find alternative meeting locations."
If they fired all the bureaucrats, they would save a tremendous amount of money, lose no services, and the students would get a better education. But no.

MISC:

Great description of money as power and why that's a good thing.
"Money is power. But – contrary to popular, sloppy thinking – not all power is necessarily bad. The coercive power of the state and other forms of power based on force are destructive in their essence, and the outcomes of their application tend to be negative. When you offer someone money for a service or good, you are motivating cooperation, and the transaction only closes if both sides feel they are getting more than they are giving. Win-win. That makes the power of money essentially constructive, and the outcomes of its application, absent the corrupting influence of force, tend to be creative."
Money is the power to improve people's lives because it can be traded for voluntary goods and services. The coercive power of government only destroys.

Free kibbles

TAX AND SPEND:

Judge rules bankruptcy filing by Harrisburg, Pennsylvania government illegal. I guess the mayor and her cronies stand to make lots of money off taxpayers, so she won't agree to it.

REGULATION:

The FCC's challenge to the AT&T-T Mobil merger costs AT&T $4 billion. And we wonder why our economy is spiraling down and jobs are moving overseas.

FEDERAL RESERVE:

We might be seeing the beginning of a modern day bank run.
"The nation's 10 largest retail banks are at risk of losing $185 billion in deposits over the next year as customers will look to move primary accounts to community and regional banks they perceive as being more customer-friendly."
The big banks must be in serious trouble despite, or because of, all the money the Fed printed and handed to them. Chase just sent me a $125 gift card if I open a Chase Total Checking account.

HEALTH CARE:

Dr. Mercola exposes government's health care system:
"With all its designer drugs and state-of-the-art machinery, you'd think modern medicine is the perfect fix for providing patient-focused care. You might also expect that Americans would be the healthiest people on Earth, seeing that the U.S. is the epicenter of all this technology, and especially since we spend more on health care than any other country in the world.
Yet, every year in the U.S., seven out of 10 deaths are due to preventable chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, stroke, and obesity.
How can that be?
How is it that we're not just chronically ill, but also lagging behind most industrialized nations in life expectancy?
The answer lies in how we approach health care: like it or not, the real focus of modern medicine is on selling disease and making money, not making you well."
This is what happens when we give government our power. Politicians and bureaucrats sell that power to the highest bidder, and those organizations use our power to advance their own interests at our expense. There's no way to reform this because the government officials and the special interest leaders are simply obeying human nature. The only solution is to take our power back from government.

Thanks to government domination of our health care system, the US ranks 28th in life expectancy despite being the most expensive system.

We should consider the FDA approved label as a warning to avoid from that product because it will cause us harm.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Government's stupid smart meters are interfering with other consumer electronics. What else would you expect from government? They didn't the UL approval. They don't need it. This shows how the private sector is much more effective at regulation than the government. And it's far cheaper.

Google abandons renewable energy prospects. That's because they're not cost effective.

Climategate 2 emails provide evidence the World Bank is helping orchestrate the great global warming fraud. BBC reporter jokes about how phony the BBC's pretense of objectivity is. This is true of every news outlet. Both Climategate 1 and 2 releases came when Obama visited China.

There's no such thing as renewable energy.

It looks like nothing terrible will happen at the latest global warming conference.

POLICE STATE:

Because prosecutors are immune from penalties from prosecutorial misconduct, prosecutorial misconduct is the rule instead of the exception. The American people should revoke their immunity, but that's not enough. Police have no immunity, but prosecutors never prosecute them for their crimes. Prosecutors wouldn't prosecute each other either. That's why we need a free market justice system.

Of course bias influences every decision we make in life. How could it be otherwise? Or maybe a better way to ask the question is: what does unbiased mean? And the conviction system takes advantage of this to produce convictions.

WAR:

The ruling class thinks the way they murdered Libyans was so popular, they're repeating the playbook for Syria. European leaders promoting another "humanitarian" mission like the one that killed tens of thousands in Libya in Syria. I guess they figure that bombing people to death is a humane way to kill them. It's sickening that so many Americans support these atrocities.

Here's what Syria has to look forward to:
"Lynching, torture, kidnapping are rampant [in Libya]. Not that it matters. The US struck a blow against the Chinese companies that had been developing the oil. They were tossed out, and their massive investments lost, and the CIA-Pentagon-Big Oil complex took it all over."
Very humanitarian.

POLITICS:

Lots of people don't understand this, but Ron Paul gets more donations from the military, federal bureaucrats and military-industrial complex workers than any other candidate. Lew Rockwell explains why:
"People are capable of putting principle ahead of short-term economic interests. That's why, no matter how many are riding on the taxpayers' back, all is not lost."
This is why Ron Paul would do better than any other Republican in the general election, and beat Pharaoh Obama handily. It also shows that good people go into the government hoping to help others only to discover the system is designed to keep that from happening.

FOREIGN POLICY:

Report that Iranians capture a US covert operations team. If we caught an Iranian covert operations team, we know what they would be called: terrorists. What do you think the Iranians will call a US covert operations team? Why would they be wrong? This is an important reminder that the US government is the initiator of aggression all over the world. That's why the rest of the world hates us and so many want to kill us. We should stop that. Funny how the Telegraph article returns a 404 error. That seems to happen a lot when papers prints stories detrimental to the establishment.

MISC:

Thanksgiving is a reminder of the marginal utility theory of value. This explains why the more wealth people enjoy, the less they appreciate it. Tell that to the Occupiers. Reminder that capitalism at Plymouth colony created the bounty that produced the first Thanksgiving after years of socialism almost wiped the colony out.

IBM's idea: build a DNA sequencing machine for $100 so it can build a DNA database of every person and creature on earth. This sounds very scary to me. It sounds inevitable.
