Free kibbles

The Congressional Budget Office reports the obvious - Obama's health care oppression plan, in all its variations, would increase the cost of health care, not decrease it. Duh. Whenever government gets involved in the economy, prices go up. It's universal. It can't be any other way. House health care oppression bill outlaws individuals buying private health insurance. That's because government wants to seize our entire health care and health insurance business by putting private insurance companies out of business. These plans are all Trojan horses for socialized medicine. This is a scam second only to the man-made global warming fraud. Cato says this health care plan will make us pay more for worse care. Cato explains that the new bureaucracies will make it harder to see your doctor. Cato explains that to control costs, we need to move from an employer based health care model to an individual based health care model, which is just the opposite of what Democrats want. Democrats want to use health care to control and harm businesses and they want to keep individuals powerless.

According to this article, Joe Biden says that government spending on health care is bankrupting the nation (that's a reasonable approximation of the truth), and increased government spending on health care is the solution (that's a big, steaming load of bull****).
""Now, people when I say that look at me and say, ‘What are you talking about, Joe? You’re telling me we have to go spend money to keep from going bankrupt?’” Biden said. “The answer is yes, that's what I’m telling you.""
It shows us how stupid Americans are, how badly we've been miseducated by government schools and how badly we've been misinformed by the mainstream media, that politicians think they can, and very often can, get away with outrageously obvious lies. Biden obviously expects to get away with this one. And he probably will, despite the information that it will take ruinous tax increases to pay for this oppression. Every time government passes a law, let alone a law as disastrous as Obama's health care oppression, any law that restricts our freedom, it oppresses us and we have to pay for it with new taxes and reduced economic output. And we keep doing it week after week, year after year, decade after decade. That's how stupid we are, and the professional politicians love us for it as they roll in our dough.

I'm looking forward to an Obama blitz on health care oppression. This should end his presidency unless some crisis gives him a second chance. He's already hemorrhaging independents, and publicly painting lipstick on this turd should finish him off, hopefully for good. Hillarycare ended Bill Clinton's leftist presidency, but Clinton was smart enough to abandon his leftist positions, transform himself into the moderate he pretended to be from the start and take credit for Gingrich's political successes like the balanced budget and welfare reform. I doubt Obama can transform himself. He's too indoctrinated into Bill Ayers-style radicalism. Clinton was selfish and insecure and wanted only what was best for him, so he was able to adapt. Obama hates us, hates America and wants only to harm us. I doubt he can adapt from that. Republicans need to be just as aggressive in response, unfortunately, their proposals are big government proposals too, so they can't object on principle, only on scale.

Governors have noticed the hundreds of billions in health care oppression costs that Democrats have pushed to the states to hide them from the people in order to get the price tag near $1 trillion, and they're not happy about the unfunded mandates.

Cato exposes the massive corruption, theft and fraud that accompanies all government programs including any future proposed programs like Obama's health care oppression plan.
"Every year, criminals and cheats pilfer over $100 billion — that's $40 billion more than Bernie Madoff scammed off his investors — in federal benefits to which they are not legally entitled. Medicare, Medicaid, food stamps, refundable tax credits, and many other programs are targets for looting.

Government fraud has been in the news lately because analysts are expecting major abuses of the Obama administration's $787 billion stimulus plan. One Deloitte expert argued that "swindlers, con men, and thieves could siphon off as much as $50 billion" of stimulus funds, which are vulnerable because policymakers are under pressure to shovel it out the door quickly.

Even more troubling is the potential for fraud and abuse created by President Obama's other big spending proposals — particularly his giant health-care plan. Obama wants to inject hundreds of billions more tax dollars into federal health care instead of fundamentally reforming Medicare and Medicaid — broken programs that are already subject to Madoff-sized larceny. That is incredibly unfair to those of us paying the bills."
All government programs begin immorally by taking money from people by force. Because they are morally corrupt from the first step, because they take power and money from the people and concentrate it in the hands of a few, government programs can only be corrupt throughout. One expert "thinks that as much as 20 percent of the federal health-care budget is consumed by fraud, which would be $85 billion a year for Medicare." Giving government more power to fix the problem can never work because power corrupts. More government power always leads to more corruption. That same power attracts the most corrupt people in the country to become bureaucrats and politicians. The most corrupt of those become the most successful. Massive government means massive corruption. Our titanic government is a thinly disguised kleptocracy. The only way to reduce corruption is to reduce the power of government, and the more we reduce the power of government, the more we'll reduce corruption.

Cato explains that the mandate on businesses to provide health care is really another massive tax on Americans. This is another way Obama is pretending his plan is cheaper than it is, by pushing the costs onto businesses. The result will be higher prices, lost jobs and less competitive businesses. That's Obama's plan. He wants to collapse our economy, and if his programs pass, he'll succeed. In addition to this "hidden" tax, check at the tax rates on New Yorkers at the end of the article because of the new health care tax, eliminating the Bush tax cuts and the tax hikes in New York. New York is chasing rich people out and inviting welfare recipients to move in, just like California. We don't have to guess what the consequences will be.

While calling for individuals to control their health care dollars in order to control costs, reduce waste and improve quality of care, Cato exposes government and corruption in our health care system again:
"Experts suggest that one-third of U.S. health care spending, or about 6% of GDP, is pure waste. The reason is simple: Government controls half of our nation's health care dollars, and lets employers control an additional quarter. And nobody spends other people's money as carefully as they spend their own."
If we take back our power and money to make health care decisions for ourselves, we'll drive down health care and health insurance costs plus Americans will get significantly healthier.

Considering the war Democrats are waging on the wealthy, they should be worried about wealthy voters.

US commanders feel hampered by the new agreement restricting them from operations in Iraqi cities. I imagine if you're a military commander and you have actionable intelligence on activities in cities, it's frustrating not to be able to act. I also imagine if you were used to working side-by-side with Iraqis on patrols, you don't like being shut out of those patrols. I also imagine opportunities for promotion don't come from sitting in bases. But the Iraqis have to take responsibility for their own security.

Honduras's government is standing strong behind the rule of law against the leftists trying to trash it.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad says his new government will bring down the global arrogance of the west. He's slick. He knows that our government and Britain's government are destroying our countries. Ahmadinejad is positioning himself to take credit. Our governments are playing into his hands. When the next domino falls, and it won't be long, he'll take credit.

The Dept. of Energy plans to mandate flex-fuel vehicles. All we need to know is government mandates harm us all without exception. Does anybody remember what happened to food prices when government subsidizing ethanol? We can either eat corn or burn it as fuel. We can't do both. I would say some people never learn from their mistakes, but I think they did learn. Obama's government is harming us on purpose.

I guess Phuket has recovered from the tsunami. Or it needs our tourist dollars to finish doing so.

I'm sure liberals believe that George Bush orchestrated the terrorist attacks in Jakarta to fear-monger Americans into thinking terrorists still threaten America.

Cato fears Sotomayor's confirmation based on her failure to uphold property rights. Cato calls Sotomayor average and a left-leaning empty robe.

Cato study identifies the many false claims about income inequality.

Calling for an end to the government monopoly on education, Cato blasts the argument that more money will solve the problem.
"The U.S. spends 2.3 times as much per pupil in real, inflation-adjusted dollars as it spent in 1970, but the return on this ballooning investment has been less than nothing.

Student achievement at the end of high school has been flat for nearly 40 years, according to a recent study by the Education Department, while the graduation rate fell over the same period, according to a report by James Heckman, a Nobel laureate economist.
...
The productivity collapse in education is more than staggering; it's unparalleled. Can you name any other service or product that has gotten worse and less affordable over the past two generations? The reason you can't is that no other field is organized as a state-run monopoly."
It's just that simple.

Obama's new corporate taxes will cost Americans jobs.
"The U.S. corporate tax rate is simply too high. When you add state corporate taxes to the 35 percent federal rate, you arrive at a whopping 40 percent average corporate tax burden, the second highest among the 30 countries in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)."
America used to be the best place to do business, but over the last decade, we've become one of the worst.

Obama's science czar has been a climate alarmist since the 70s when he scared us about the coming ice age. He might have been right, just 40 years too soon. In the mean time, he's been scaring us about global warming. He hasn't been right about that for 11 years.
