Free kibbles

Excellent explanation of how Obama's actions show he has no interest in freedom or self-government by any people, instead pretending that all forms of government are equal. Obama is a tyrant wannabe. I fear he is the strongman Hayek warned us about. Let's hope, after centuries of assault by both parties, the tattered remains of our system of checks and balances are enough to stop him from achieving his goals.

Article describing how bad money tends to drive good money out of the market quotes ancient writer who links that process with the political process in which bad politicians drive good ones out of government.
"The course our city runs is the same towards men and money.
She has true and worthy sons.
She has fine new gold and ancient silver,
Coins untouched with alloys, gold or silver,
Each well minted, tested each and ringing clear.
Yet we never use them!
Others pass from hand to hand,
Sorry brass just struck last week and branded with a wretched brand.
So with men we know for upright, blameless lives and noble names.
These we spurn for men of brass...."
It's a universal truth the government attracts the most power-hungry, narcissistic and greedy people, and the worst of them rise to the top.

In an attempt to bring the Federal price tag for his health care plan under $1 trillion, Obama plans to shift costs to the states. He's trying to hide the costs from the people so they won't kill his plan. It's pure deception.

So the $155 billion hospitals agreed to give up was future Medicare and Medicaid payments. Hospitals will have no choice but to make up that money by raising prices on people who pay. Obviously that will increase the cost of health care. Funny how Obama claims he's trying to lower the cost of health care when in fact his policies are designed to increase the cost. This must be another part of the deception about getting his plan under $1 trillion.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer laughs at the idea of Representatives reading the health care bill before it's voted on. Voters should recall anybody who doesn't read the entire bill. If they had to read the entire bill, they'd stop foisting these monstrosities on us.

It's about the mainstream media, this time the Associated Press, reported that what Obama promised in services and taxes during the campaign was impossible. Funny how they failed to mention that before the election. The article also reports that's he's broken his tax promises already and will likely continue breaking it.

It's about time mainstream economists are recognizing that government fiscal policy has turned our economy into a train wreck. I've been writing about this for several years. I've been talking about if for well over a decade. Ronald Reagan talked about it in 1980.

The British are figuring Obama out. In an essay calling Obama's Moscow deals a fire sale of US nuclear defenses, author wonders if Obama has a secret agenda:
"[T]he Looney Tunes President’s sell-out of US and Western interests is proceeding at such a speed that it is difficult to keep pace. Well said, Nile Gardiner, for asking if Barack Obama is the most naïve president in American history. The answer is undoubtedly yes – unless he has a secret agenda to cut America down to size."
There's no secret about it. Obama ran on an agenda of harming America, his entire life history illustrates hatred of America and love of Marxism, and his actions in office are designed to harm us. He hates American power. He hates American exceptionalism. He hates the great mainstream of America. And he's doing us harm just like we knew he would before the election. This essay breaks down the numbers.

Obama's assistant Attorney General claims captured terrorists have full constitutional rights. I warned that we were on our way to a system that required our troops to be evidence collectors. I can just imagine the new show: CSI Khandahar. That's what this guy wants. Fire this man. Anybody who can't tell the difference between a war and a criminal investigation has no business being a janitor, let alone a an assistant Attorney General.

Mises scholar suggests that the political crackups in California and New York might just be the first signs of the collapse of the US government. He writes an excellent summary of the crackup in New York. This is a must read. I've written before that red states would secede and raise fences to block refuges from blue states, but Oliva has a good point - the federal government is much more powerful than state governments. Before we see red states secede, we're likely to see states break apart and red counties isolate those few, bright blue areas on the map that are so destructive of resources and our politics. Let New York City, LA and San Francisco fend for themselves without being able to suck the wealth from the hardworking citizens of the rest of their states. Put a fence around them so the government and welfare lovers who destroyed those cities can't infect the rest of the state. We have to realize that the aristocrats don't want to fix our government problem. All they care about is getting more power for themselves. It's getting more and more likely the people will have to go around the government to fix it, and this is one way it could happen.

Lewellyn Rockwell writes a great essay detailing how we're following the exact same path economically that Nazi Germany followed. The comparison is chilling. I wish he hadn't made the claim that, "The main myth they promoted was that Bush was the Christian philosopher-king heading a new crusade against Islamic extremism." It seems from his context his "they" is the Bush administration. During the Bush administration, I never once read anything from the administration that insinuated Bush was a Christian philosopher-king or that we were on a new crusade against Islamic extremism. Sure, we were trying to kill terrorists before they killed us, and sure, we should never have invaded Iraq, but I never saw anything equating Bush's agenda to a new crusade. Bush was making plans to go into Iraq before Islamic extremism crashed into our buildings. After Bush was out of power I saw covers from presentations Donald Rumsfeld made for Bush that clearly insinuated what Rockwell claims, but I never once saw the Bush administration make that case to the public.

Obama's EPA administrator testified that the House tax and trade bill have zero effect on global CO2 emissions. This bill is the largest tax increase in history, and it will have zero effect on climate. I've reported that all along, but Obama's EPA administrator admits it. Can we end this global warming charade now? This fraud has nothing to do with climate or the environment. It's all about money and power. Anybody want to bet Obama either fires her or makes her change her story?

Honduras's interim government shows no signs of giving in. Good for them. They just need to hold out until the next election.
