The US sponsors propaganda news reporting to promote its interest around the world. Now it will broadcast that propaganda in the US.

"Unlike traditional, independent news sources, the BBG has on its board representatives from the State Department and is funded entirely with tax dollars designated for “public diplomacy”."

I think the Rolling Stone cover of Boston Marathon suspect 2 is brilliant for a different reason. I think the government is going to have a hard time convicting this guy. The government needs to bias the jury pool further to insure a conviction. Rolling Stone is helping the government by reaching a new audience in a new way and convincing them the suspect is guilty while making it appear they're being anti-establishment. It's brilliant. People are going to be more worked up to hang this suspect than ever.
