Tax and Spend

After brokering the deal to raise taxes, Senate minority leader McConnell claims he won't accept any more revenue increases. Does he think we'll forget he raised taxes already?

Pat Buchanan inadvertently explains the new state of political theater in Washington.
"The president threatens that before he signs on to new spending cuts, Republicans will have to "make the rich pay their fair share."
The GOP response should be: We will work with you on spending cuts, but there will be no more tax increases. If higher taxes are a condition you impose for spending cuts, there will be no spending cuts."
The two parties have staged a perfect excuse to avoid cutting spending still. Each side gets to blame the other, but they're both really working together to maintain spending despite the will of the American people.
