Right to Keep and Bear Arms

Gun grabbers like Mao, Stalin, Hitler and Obama all know the importance of using children as props.

Obama invokes the Constitution in support of gun control.

"By doing so, Obama sought to turn a perceived political weakness — his image as an aloof intellectual — into a strength, and, at the same time, to turn a perceived strength of gun advocates — the constitutional right to bear arms — into a potential weakness.
Citing a series of mass shootings, Obama listed several amendments, as well as the defining phrase of the Declaration of Independence, to argue that the right to bear arms should not compromise other rights.
“We have the right to worship freely and safely — that right was denied to Sikhs in Oak Creek, Wisconsin,” Obama said at a midday event. “The right to assemble peacefully — that right was denied shoppers in Clackamas, Oregon, and moviegoers in Aurora, Colorado.”
Obama added that “that most fundamental set of rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” were “denied to college students at Virginia Tech and high school students at Columbine and elementary school students in Newtown, and kids on street corners in Chicago on too frequent a basis to tolerate.”"

This is wrong on many levels, and I expect it will backfire on Obama. First, the bill of rights limits the government, not individuals. The right to free assembly and religion is a prohibition for government to interfere with those things. Furthermore, the fundamental right all those victims were deprived of was the right to keep and bear arms that made them easy victims in the first place. These arguments make Obama, the supposed constitutional scholar, look like a opportunistic fool.
Lawmakers unimpressed with Obama's tired gun control proposals. No kidding. This is just a rehash of the Clinton-era policies that were repealed and led to reduced crime. This might be Obama's Waterloo. The people will apparently swallow his outrageous spending, debt, regulations and Obamacare. But they won't swallow his gun control. Hopefully this will cripple him politically for the next four years. But it won't. If it harms him, he'll probably start a war with Iran to gain support and go back on the attack against Americans. At the very least, this might take away his momentum from his reelection.

"Polls show that a majority of the electorate shares [Obama's] views."

I don't believe this for a second.

Two good Samaritans chased down and fired at an armed robber, shooting and eventually capturing him. How much you want to bet they're charged with a crime?

Armed woman scares off home invader. This is the kind of story that never gets reported and is only being reported now because of Obama's attempt to ban guns.
