I've long believed that gun control advocates tend to be people with self-control problems who project their weakness on others. This provides a framework for that belief. Gun control is an act of violence. So it's not surprising that people who advocate gun control tend to be violent people who don't trust themselves to own guns. Then they project their character flaw on everybody else. On the other gun ownership is a peaceful activity, so gun owners tend to be peaceful people. It's not surprising that the anti-war left, known for ubiquitous violence, is also against gun ownership.
