Free kibbles

Obama offers to stop missile defense in eastern Europe if Russia helps deal with Iran. This sounds like a fine deal on the face of it, but Russia doesn't want Iran to get a bomb any more than we do. It would be as likely to go off in Chechnya as anywhere. It'll be interesting to see how this develops. If it stops Iran from building a bomb, I'm all for it. Unfortunately, I seriously doubt Iran will give up its enriched uranium, so forever now, Iran will be able to build the bomb in a short time.

It looks the Fed and the Treasury have created a trillion dollar bank called TALF to directly compete with private banks. If banks aren't making these loans, why should taxpayers?

This headline is a bit misleading: Stocks climb after Monday's loss. They're only up 50 after a 300 point loss, so they're not even close to making up the difference. The Dow is still under 7,000. 5 minutes later, the Dow is only up 26. Make that 21. The Obama administration must be tanking the market with TALF.

Whoa! This is a violent video of cops assaulting a female prisoner. As bad as the beating is, the worse part is these cops know they're on video, and they know their police department is going to cover this up for them. They obviously have no fear that their assault will get them in trouble. Let's hope they're wrong. These are the same kind people liberals want to be in charge of our health care.

Because Democrats don't have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, Obama plans to use a parliamentary trick to pass his socialist utopia agenda bypassing the filibuster. I'm sure the liberals who were upset at Bush's budget tricks will love Obama's budget tricks. If Republicans had tried this, liberals would have screamed to high heaven, but you can bet they'll have a double-standard on this for Democrats. Hopefully a Republican Senator will use a secret hold if Democrats try this, assuming it doesn't bypass the secret hold too. Senator Kyl has used the secret hold before.

Big government is driving highly educated immigrants back to their native countries. This will continue for at least 4 more years.

Using an effective SUV metaphor, Mises scholar explains how the Fed distorts and harms our economy, how inflation harms the poor most and why the Fed's policies aren't pulling us and can't pull us out of this financial crisis.

Obama isn't just trying to bankrupt the domestic coal industry, he's trying to bankrupt oil and natural gas too. Because we have those things, Obama must destroy them and make us poorer.

President Anti-Earmark Obama is set to sign yet another $410 billion spending bill with 9,000 earmarks in it including 16 earmarks from Obama's Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. This shyster makes Bill Clinton look pretty darn good.
