Every politician today runs on a platform of solving people's problems. Voters take it for granted that politicians' jobs are to solve our problems. It's so ingrained in our society that it's hard to imagine a different approach. We need to break this built-in bias in order to regain our freedom from government.

Somehow we need to change the political debate from who can best solve our problems to who will free us to solve our own problems. Right now, expanding government to solve the issue of the day is considered a noble cause. We need to change the political bias so that rolling back government to free people is the noble cause.

The Libertarian Party has had very little impact on that bias. I think it's because the they have the same weak outlook on projecting American power as the Democrats. Mainstream America wants freedom, but they also want to see Communism defeated, not enriched and empowered. Mainstream America wants to see the jihadists defeated, not sit around and wait for the next attack.

How do we promote the rise of the noble reformer who recognizes that government is the problem, not the solution?
