War on Drugs

Opium production increases again in Afghanistan. This news isn't disappointing for the people in power.
"The United Nations says opium poppy cultivation in Afghanistan his risen by seven percent this year, hitting a record high despite costly U.S.-led efforts to cut production."
The US isn't trying to eradicate opium production in Afghanistan. It's just using that as an excuse to make its cronies rich.
"In a report released Wednesday, the U.N.'s Office on Drugs and Crime says the increased cultivation could produce 7,054 tons of opium, or 17 percent more than in 2013.
Afghan Minister for Counter-Narcotics Din Mohammad Mubariz Rashidi says the opium from Afghanistan is refined into heroin that accounts for 90 percent of world's supply."
Nice job.
"The Taliban, which have been waging war against the Afghan government since 2001, are heavily involved in the poppy cultivation and opium distribution."
I like how they blame the Taliban even though puppet Karzai's brother is an opium dealer on the CIA payroll.
