Washington absolutely wields the biggest oil weapon, but this article gets Obama's politics wrong.

His administration has been opening up ever more coastal areas to exploration and drilling from the East to the Arctic waters of Alaska, while encouraging the creation of a “Saudi America” in the American frack lands."Not true. While coastlines have been opened up, that's been because of states, not Obama. He's closed areas to drilling, not opened them up. Hating fossil fuels is one of the few policies Obama's rhetoric matches his policies. Much as the US economy has, barely, grown despite Obama's policies, US energy production has grown despite Obama's policies.
