Local

Warren County racino begins hiring 500+ people.

Homeowner detains burglar, but the article doesn't say how. I wonder why the DDN would omit such an important element of the story that ties directly into the headline. It was probably with a gun.

Dayton and Springfield slow to regain lost jobs.
"Dayton and Springfield are among the 15 percent of U.S. metro areas that are expected to take more than a decade to regain the jobs lost during the economic downturn, according to a recent report."
The government is making it as hard as possible.

Dayton supposedly high on health care jobs.
"In a local economy that is still more than 30,000 jobs short of its pre-recession peak, healthcare continues to shine as a bright spot for employment in the metropolitan Dayton area, according to the Brookings Institution’s new quarterly “Metro Monitor” report."
This isn't a good thing. If you have lots of health care jobs, it means you have a lot of unhealthy people. Also, I don't know why so many insurance companies are popping up here. Since those companies are so deeply in bed with the government, that's not a good thing either.
