Dayton City Commission grants permission for residential, office, retail development on river across from Dragon's stadium. Slightly more info. How generous of our benevolent rulers. Why do these people have to ask permission? Apparently Dayton's rulers have been central planning this area since at least 2007. We don't need no stinking central plans. We should get the government out of the way so the people can make best use of the land. I bet tax dollars are spent on this project so the politicians can get bigger kickbacks.

I love this headline:
"Wrong people in house raided by SWAT team"
Like it's the people's fault. Talk about blaming he victims. I'd say these people should sue, but between sovereign immunity and limits on liability, they wouldn't obtain anything but pain, suffering and retaliation. The definition of a police state is when the victims of the police have no remedy. We live in a police state. Imagine if a private sector security force had done this. These were federal organized crime warrants served under the authority of the Ohio organized crime bureaucracy. I doubt they'll apologize. These are bound to be drug warrants.

This conflict over development or urban garden is another conflict created by government ownership of property.

A DDN RSS headline says 1000+ lost power in storms yesterday, but the story has been changed to warn of more storms today. Power is out on Far Hills through Oakwood right now. Wind blows. Trees fall. Power fails.

Police dog bites man. Man kicks dog in response. Police charge man with assaulting a police dog. No man, whether being arrested or not, has duty to allow himself to be bitten by a dog, whether a police dog or not. It's unnatural. It's a barbaric practice. It should only be done in self-defense. The aggressor here was the cop. The supposed crime involved was eating drugs.
