Police State

How NSA and giant tech firms helped each other build the surveillance state to their mutual advantage.

Snowden's NSA revelations are the story of the year.

Sweden closing prisons because of lack of prisoners. Apparently Sweden's rulers have not figured out the great benefits of the war on drugs.

Americans struggle to reconcile the two Snowdens: the hero who blew the whistle on NSA's ubiquitous spying on Americans and the traitor who outed ubiquitous government spying against foreigners. There is no reconciliation needed. The US through NSA is the aggressor in both cases, and neither can be justified either morally or practically. True defenders of the people would focus on threats - finding needles in the haystack - instead of on building bigger haystacks without any reason to suspect a threat.
