In a cat fight between casinos and racinos, the Ohio casino protection agency thinks Dayton's prospective racino focuses too much on slot machines and not enough on boring horses. If they wanted to have horse racing, why not bring in thoroughbreds? I'd go watch thoroughbreds.
"Racing commissioners complained that the $125 million harness track in Dayton and the $125 million thoroughbred track in Austintown will each seat only a few hundred spectators for the horse races. “It seems very small to me,” commented Commissioner Willaim Koester. Commissioners asked Penn National to return next week with revised plans for additional seating for more racing fans."This is what government has reduced our society to: too small-time bullies arguing over how many seats they need to provide in order for the big-time bully to allow them to steal our lunch money.
Miami Township trustees will consider allowing Christian Schools to invest $15 million of their own money to upgrade their own property. Isn't that mighty generous of our all-powerful rulers? Let's all bow down and kiss their rings. And you thought you owned your own property. The idea that adults must ask permission to spend their own money to develop their own property disgusts me.
