Free kibbles

Danish riots as leftists protest eviction. They want a building for free in replacement. Talk about entitlement. Europe is disintegrating, and we're following the same path.

Poll shows Americans support universal health care. I bet they didn't ask if they support waiting months for critical procedures. Socialized medicine sounds great until you the consequences. And that's just the immediate consequences. The growing entitlement mentality is more dangerous than the socialized medicine itself. Just look at Europe.

Bush orders bipartisan probe into veterans hospital scandal. Army Secretary resigns.

Bush promises aid to tornado victims. How come they don't have tornado insurance? Everybody in America should buy tornado insurance, and if you chose not to, and you lose your house in a tornado, you deal with the consequences of your choices. Why does the Federal government have to rebuild houses?

China is against the US selling weapons to Taiwan. That's because they intend to attack Taiwan, as they've threatened repeatedly.

US court refuses to hear torture case, citing national security.

Libby jury asks for definition of reasonable doubt.

Kent State professor denies jihad charges, and asserts right to free speech. Calling people to jihad is far more inflammatory than shouting fire. There is no free speech right to incite people to murder.

Overthinking reaction to storms. Where were kids going to be safer than in a school?

Total lunar eclipse tonight.

A little common sense about the drinking and driving debate.

Charles Krauthammer thinks we should go back to the moon. I agree. Imagine if Columbus had established a floating platform 100 miles off the coast of Spain, and nobody went further. That's what the space station is. Let's colonize the moon.

The US rules of engagement in Iraq limit self-defense of our soldiers
. That's outrageous.

Federal welfare corrupts states and the federalist system
. Welfare of all types: handouts, entitlements, subsidies, etc., corrupts individuals and states.
