Health Care

The government got it all wrong about fat and cholesterol.
"Steve Nissen, chairman of cardiovascular medicine at the Cleveland Clinic, told USA Today:5 “It’s the right decision. We got the dietary guidelines wrong. They’ve been wrong for decades.”"
That's refreshing.

Dr. Mercola points out the fascist, corrupt nature of the FDA.
"They found 60 clinical trials that had been classified as OAI, and these trials had been used for data in 78 published articles. Out of those 78 studies, only three included mentions of the violations found by the FDA! And we’re not talking about small, innocent mistakes. The violations included fraud, incompetence, and misconduct. This means that anyone browsing a medical journal might be making decisions based on fraudulent published studies."

This is true for all government-funded pseudo-science.

Sugar worse for blood pressure than salt.  Salt is safe.

CDC forced to admit opiod pain-killers are killing lots of people.

The vet who killed Chris Kyle was on psychotropic drugs from the VA.

CDC admits overuse of antibiotics caused deadly infections. More.

Since antibiotics are cheap, little R&D is spent on them. That's because cheap antibiotics including penicillin are good for most infections. I would imagine, like new TVs, the small, expensive market would be enough for R&D funding. And as superbugs proliferate, the antibiotics to combat them will command a high price. A free market economy works.
