Police State

Appeals court throws out insider trading convictions. Insider trading is a phony crime anyway.
"“We conclude that the jury instructions were erroneous and that there was insufficient evidence to support the convictions,” Judge Barrington D. Parker wrote on behalf of a three-judge panel that also included Judge Ralph K. Winter and Judge Peter W. Hall.
The unanimous decision – the first higher court rebuke of an insider trading case filed by Preet Bharara, the United States attorney in Manhattan – could portend a broader unraveling of Mr. Bharara’s insider trading crackdown. It will also offer a blueprint for traders to defend future insider trading cases, a development that is likely to unnerve prosecutors while delighting the defense bar."
It's good to see prosecutors slapped down.

I'm sure drugs play a role in escalating police violence.
"Regarding the out of control, psychopathic government police in USSA who display severely pathological narcissism when it comes to precious “officer safety” at the expense of the civilians, and who get away with violent criminality inflicted on innocents: Has anyone brought up the possibility of these officers being influenced by prescription drugs? We know that many of them are using and abusing steroids. Some local government police departments have been cracking down on that, by testing cops for steroid use. "
I have zero confidence in cops testing themselves.
