Tax and Spend

IRS shuts down bank account of small business because it makes small deposits.

The government shutdown of parks and monuments is to punish the people for electing representatives that resist the president.

Currently there are about 2.8 million federal, civilian employees. There's about 1.5 million military personnel.

More than 2,500 furloughed workers have already filed for unemployment in Ohio.

Boehner preemptively surrenders on raising the debt ceiling.
"In meetings with small groups of rank-and-file lawmakers, House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio) has emphasized that he will not permit the country to default for the first time on its debt."
There's a couple of blatant lies in that statement. The most obvious Boehner is talking about the government, not the country. The other is the US has defaulted on its debt before.
"The United States defaulted on its national debt obligations in 1790 and again in 1933, during the Great Depression, according to The Forgotten History of Domestic Debt, a 2008 report published by two National Bureau of Economic Research analysts."
Ron Paul lists three US defaults in the 20th century. Here's a list of more defaults by the US government, though not all our technically bond defaults.
