Free kibbles

FREEDOM OF SPEECH:

Hacker who bogged down WikiLeaks with DDOS attacks busted.

The FTC marches forward with its plans to regulate the internet.

TAX AND SPEND:

Here's what your tax dollars are funding at the Smithsonian this year:
"The federally funded National Portrait Gallery, one of the museums of the Smithsonian Institution, is currently showing an exhibition that features images of an ant-covered Jesus, male genitals, naked brothers kissing, men in chains, Ellen DeGeneres grabbing her breasts, and a painting the Smithsonian itself describes in the show's catalog as "homoerotic.""
This is what happens when we allow government to steal our money.

This guy doesn't understand politics. He thinks that Democrats, since they got spanked in November, should compromise on the Bush tax cuts. But the Democrats who got re-elected are the most radical Democrats, and their radical leftist bases don't want that compromise. The Democrats who got ousted have no incentive to compromise. These radical Democrats will profit from a game of chicken with Republicans, so that's exactly what they're doing.

The federal government has a worse debt to revenue ratio than Greece.

The role the EU played in the Irish fiscal problems and how the EU is gaining power from the crises at the expense of the Irish government and people.

I've often said we're near the end of the road to serfdom, so it's kind of fun to see somebody else use that analogy.

REGULATION:

The EU investigates Google as a monopoly. This is a case of a monopoly (government) creating a monopoly (Google) with monopoly rights (IP laws) then the monopoly (government) investigating the monopoly (Google) for being a monopoly. Needless to say, the people are going to get screwed.

HEALTH CARE:

With all the concern over genetically modified food, it's instructive to realize that pretty much all the food we eat has been genetically modified through selective breeding over the millennia.

Democrats and Republicans agree that the $600 threshold for $1099s should be repealed from Obamacare, but they can't agree on how. That's the radicalization process in action.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

Colorado University and NASA to study sun's effect on climate. Its seems kind of odd they never thought of that before, but since this study will be funded by government money, it will be corrupt.

POLICE STATE:

Sarah Palin wants the government to hunt down WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange the same way our troops hunt down Taliban leaders. As if I needed another reason to not like her.

Interpol puts Assange on most wanted list because he's wanted for questioning in Sweden regarding rape allegations. Odd that previously Sweden had said there was not enough evidence to prosecute him. More and more this sounds like a witch-hunt intended to discredit and silence Assange. The president of Ecuador offers asylum to Assange.

It turns out that TSA has been conducting unannounced searches at bus terminals all over the US. TSA searching subways in Boston. Police searching skiers in lift lines. This is getting nuts, fast.

TSA searching nuns. But are they really nuns or terrorists in disguise?

Lawyers think Portland kid busted for fake terrorist attack was an FBI patsy. Gosh, ya think?

FOREIGN POLICY:

Hillary Clinton orders psych workup of female Argentine president. Jealous much?

Authors claim white Americans lost their minds when Obama was inaugurated, after they voted for him.

POLITICS:

Assange calls for Hillary Clinton to resign. He'll be lucky to live long enough to see her replaced.

MEDIA:

Top ten revelations from WikiLeaks data dump. Why this WikiLeaks data dump is different from the previous ones. Because it makes the aristocrats look like the buffoons they are. This dump removes the masque of sophistication and expertise from the aristocrats and shows them to be selfish, petty cretins.
"The US government shrieks, tone-deaf, of global democracy – but disparages the populist language of Italian officials and declares the elected and popular prime minister there to be unqualified. Yet, this same democracy-loving government enjoys very much its dealings with the evilest of dictators. This hypocrisy has long been a staple of both libertarian and Marxist critiques of US foreign policy, for well over a century. Now it’s out in the open – and it’s kind of funny."
Dictators are part of the ruling class too.
"As the American wholesale subsidy of banks, bullets and butter metastasizes, devouring freedom and wrecking the system, the desperation of the ruling class and those in its employ is palpable. Americans ought to gratefully smile as we review these latest Wikileaks, and we should savor the hilarity. Seeing our government as theatrical stooge, as incompetent popinjay, as naked and embarrassed Emperor, sets the stage well for what comes next."
Great quote, but there's nothing funny about the rapidly advancing onslaught of oppression in the US or the people who are going to be wiped out in the coming crash.

MISC:

Cartoon Lincoln tells the truth.

It looks like astronomers just discovered a whole bunch of "dark matter". No surprise that it's nothing exotic - they had just been miscounting stars.
