There are reports that Omar Mateen pledged allegiance to ISIS, possibly during the shooting, as well as in a 911 call made the night of the shooting. ISIS claimed it was targeting Florida three days ago. This suggests ISIS has infiltrated DHS. More likely he was radicalized by US aggression like the Fort Hood shooter.
I don't like license plate scanners, but I can see no legal reason to block cops from using them because government owns the roads.
This is the first organization I've heard of calling to reject city surveillance. I'm surprised surveillance camera defeating masks aren't already on sale.
