Here's an example of the dangerous consequences of allowing a government monopoly on our schools. According to a national survey commissioned by the California Academy of Sciences:

• Only 53% of adults know how long it takes for the Earth to revolve around the Sun.
• Only 59% of adults know that the earliest humans and dinosaurs did not live at the same time.
• Only 47% of adults can roughly approximate the percent of the Earth's surface that is covered with water.
• Only 21% of adults answered all three questions correctly.

Oh my goodness, Victor Davis Hansen destroys President Obama by asking the simple question, what if Obama had been honest about how he would govern during the campaign? Hansen delivers a possible speech Obama might have given about spending trillions of dollars, implementing cap and trade that will double energy bills for all Americans, etc. This is has got to burn any idiot who thought Obama would govern as a moderate and therefore voted for him. Obama's bringing change the American people would never have voted for had Obama been honest.

There's growing concern among Americans that the Obama administration is incompetent. Tell me about it. We have a president with a dangerous combination of lack of empathy for people and love of power who nominated a bunch of dysfunctional and corrupt political insiders and who set up an organization that focused power in the White House, intentionally putting it at odds with his cabinet. To top it all off, the administration is driven a radical leftist ideology that's blind to the wants and needs of Americans. What a surprise to find out that that's a recipe for incompetence. And for anybody who did their homework on Obama, this exactly what we expected (or maybe a little worse).
