If you can't pay and feed troops and security personnel, you're screwed. That's where Britain and the US are today. Unfortunately most people don't realize it.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:

It is funny how Obama sues Arizona for supporting federal immigration laws and ignores sanctuary cities which refuse to enforce them. I think Bush would have done the same thing.

POLITICS:

No. I didn't know about this law. Since when does a station have to run a campaign ad it doesn't like? I remember not too long ago when stations rejected ads. Did that change?

Boortz reports, "Slowly but surely we are learning that 42 Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac executives got more than 173 sweetheart deal loans from Countrywide Financial Corporation." Government is corruption, and Chris Dodd and Barney Frank are the kings of corruption in Congress.

This is a good point. The only thing Americans hate more than big government is smaller government. This is the divide and conquer thing in action again. Conservatives love their government programs. They just want to get rid of the liberal programs. And liberals love their government programs. They just want to get rid of the conservative programs. What neither side sees is that Democrats and Republicans are working this scam against them to make us all broke and powerless while they and their cronies end up with all the money and power. Remember, most of this bureaucracy was created while Bush and Republicans were in power.

This shows how willingly blind people are: when people in a small California town discovered that their city manager made $800,000 a year, they got angry. Why didn't they already know this? Why did they allow it to happen. Government is like the mafia. Why do people ignore it instead of fight it? Because they were forced to attend government schools.

Obama's approval rating 85 percent in Washington D.C. Of course. The recipients of the loot love Obama. And you wonder how the politicians get so out of touch. This is another powerful reason why we need to dramatically reduce the size and scope of government so aristocrats have to spend more time with their constituents than they do in Washington.

Here comes regulations against looks discrimination. I'm looking forward to Hollywood implementing that, but why stop there? Why not height discrimination? Or hair color discrimination?

Government increase regulation of baby products to "protect the children." Government regulations don't protect anybody but irresponsible manufacturers, retailers, bureaucrats and politicians. It would nice and effective if manufacturers and retailers took responsibility for their own products and third party, private sector regulatory agencies provided a watchdog. That's how you do effective regulation.

I hadn't thought about this. Gold is $1,191 an ounce today. So every time a gold coin collector flips a coin, he has to send a 1099.

Stop being dumbfounded and figure it out: they're intentionally trying to destroy our country.

I've often claimed that Republicans don't really want to get rid of Obamacare, they just want to share in the looting. John Boehner doesn't exactly admit that, but he tells us exactly what's going to happen if Republicans take back the House:

"“I guarantee there will be a bill on the floor that will repeal the healthcare bill and replace it with common sense reforms,” Boehner promised, if they indeed take back the House.

But wait, said Roger in Hamilton, Republicans will be able to accomplish little while Barack Obama is still president. “No matter what you guys pass, Obama will veto it, right?” he said.

Not necessarily, Boehner responded. He said there is bipartisan support to repeal cuts to Medicare, and if they can’t do away with healthcare reforms, they can cut the funding to hire people to run it."

They can't win the fund-cutting battle politically, but they'll increase the money for Medicare to share in the looting. I'm sure Republicans will resist some of Obama's agenda, but overall we're going to get bipartisan big-government. Lovely.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

I recently linked an article reporting that the Dept. of Energy had suspended funds to CRU in the wake (over six month later) of climategate. That article reported that the DOE paid about $200,000 a year to CRU. Investigation of the climategate emails reveal that the DOE in fact paid significantly more money to CRU than that. Another government lie exposed.

The Senate climate bill is once again on hold, but don't believe for a second that it's dead. I bet Democrats decided to try and pass it in the dark of night during the lame duck session after the election. Don't count on anything being dead until this Congress is finally gone, and not even then.

Small pot growers in Oakland try to use government to stop large scale pot farms from competing. It's seductive to think people who claim to want freedom want freedom for all, but that's not the case. As long as government has the power to protect some businesses from competition, business owners will try and capture that power to promote their interests, and the interest with the biggest money will almost always win. In a year or two, Oakland will create some regulations that burden the small pot growers and help the big pot farms.

WAR:

POLITICS:

Black USDA supervisor caught on tape speaking at NAACP event reporting she did not want to help an struggling farmer because he was white so she turned him over to a lawyer of his own kind (white) forced to resign.

"I was struggling with the fact that so many black people had lost their farmland and here I was faced with having to help a white person save their land. So I didn't give him the full force of what I could do.

I did enough so that when — so I took him to a white lawyer that we had — that had attended some of the trainings that we had provided because Chapter 12 bankruptcy had just been enacted for the family farmer.

So I figured if I take him to one of them that his own kind would take care of him. That's when it was revealed to me that the job is about poor, versus those who have. And not so much about white — it is about white and black, but it's not — you know, it opened my eyes. Because I took him to one of his own."

Good for Obama. Bigots like her should suffer the consequences of their bigotry. It's tempting to think she learned her lesson, but this speech and the words she chose make it clear she did not. The backlash from the left must have been powerful because now the administration has apologized for firing her.

I always enjoy how well Republicans pretend to support limited government when they're in the minority. It gives me a good belly laugh.

Vast left-wing media conspiracy exposed. I know that sounds like hyperbole and a rip-off of Hillary Clinton, but it's neither. Apparently Andrew Breitbart got a hold of the Journolist files, and this article uncovers one issue, the issue of how the media intentionally covered up Barack Obama's relationship with virulent black supremacist Rev. Wright.

GLOBAL WARMING AND ENERGY:

The frauds have decided to re-frame the global warming fraud message as a health issue. I'm telling you, these leftist frauds are more dangerous and scary than any horror movie monster. No matter how many times facts, reason and debate kill them, they keep coming back to life in different forms to attack again.

Corrupt Phil Jones, the head of CRU and the central figure in climategate, decided what evidence was and was not examined by the climategate investigators. If you allowed Ted Bundy to pick the evidence against him that was shown at trial, he's be considered not guilty too. It's hard to imagine a bigger fraud than this.

This story doesn't make any sense to me. It says the government is allowing BP to keep the oil well sealed despite a small amount of oozing gas and oil around the leak. What else would it do? Order BP to remove the cap and allow oil to flow freely into the Gulf again? Something else is going on here. Maybe what they aren't telling us is Obama wanted the cap removed, but his aids convinced him to do the right thing for political reasons.

POLICE STATE:

So when you take your teenage children flying, do you want to have the perverts in the TSA pat them down or drool over their nude photos? It's your choice. That's what passes for freedom in the US. If you think the TSA isn't populated by perverts, you don't understand the nature of government. Where else can a pervert legally get those kind of kicks? Government jobs, lording perverse power over others at the point of gun that would be criminal in the private sector, attract the most evil and perverted people in the world to those jobs.

A personal experience with the TSA illustrates how they pressure people to walk through the nude scanners. Of course they do. It's less work for them, and they get to enjoy pics of everybody nude. Men should pay homage to the old Jim Belushi Saturday Night Live skit by stuffing their pants with 10' of toilet paper. Let the perverts pull it out.

Unions hire non-union workers to walk picket lines for them.

"Billy Raye, a 51-year-old unemployed bike courier, is looking for work.

Fortunately for him, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters is seeking paid demonstrators to march and chant in its current picket line outside the McPherson Building, an office complex here where the council says work is being done with nonunion labor.

"For a lot of our members, it's really difficult to have them come out, either because of parking or something else," explains Vincente Garcia, a union representative who is supervising the picketing.

So instead, the union hires unemployed people at the minimum wage—$8.25 an hour—to walk picket lines. Mr. Raye says he's grateful for the work, even though he's not sure why he's doing it. "I could care less," he says. "I am being paid to march around and sound off."

Protest organizers and advocacy groups are reaping an unexpected benefit from continued high joblessness. With the national unemployment rate currently at 9.5%, an "endless supply" of the out-of-work, as well as retirees seeking extra income, are lining up to be paid demonstrators, says George Eisner, the union's director of organization. Extra feet help the union staff about 150 picket lines in the District of Columbia and Baltimore each day."

Special interests lobby government, and government uses its gun to loot the American people, either through taxes or regulations, and funnels that looted money, tremendously more than the special interests paid to lobby, to the special interests. The special interests then use a portion of that looted money to increase their lobbying, and government increases the amount of money looted from the people and funneled to them. It's a never-ending spiral of looted money being used against the American people.

Economists polled by this paper express optimism while lowering forecasts.

We are in the second dip of a double-dip depression. If you want to go back to 2006, you could claim we're in the third of a triple-dip depression, but with 2008 being the biggie, most people will think of it as the second in a double-dip depression.

REGULATION:

Chris Dodd admits the fatal flaw of central planners, but celebrates his central planning anyway. These aren't seven reasons to be skeptical of the bill; they are seven signs of how corrupt it is. This bill never had anything to do with making the financial system less risky and work better for consumers. It was always about transferring more of our power and wealth to aristocrats and Wall Street. Sen. Coborn explains the fraud:

"I asked [Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein during congressional hearings] point blank if he supported the financial reform bill. He said, "on the whole, financial reform is, absolutely is essential ... the biggest beneficiaries of reform will be Wall Street itself."

In other words, the CEO of a financial institution the majority spent months demonizing supports the bill that supposedly reins in his firm. Still, the bill's backers won't acknowledge the massive disconnect between their rhetoric and their legislative product."

That's because they're lying. They're professional liars. They lie without conscience.

"An even bigger problem than lending institutions that are too big to fail is a Congress the public views as too incompetent to succeed."

Let's twist this another direction. Congress wants us to think that firms which are too big to fail are too incompetent to succeed. Therefore this bill institutionalizes taxpayer bailouts of such firms. If they're too incompetent to succeed, how did they get too big to fail? Congress made them that way by creating regulations that loot us on their behalf, just like this financial oppression bill.

Who made it possible to pass this bill?

These Republicans joined Democrats and undermined any attempt Republicans had to claim they opposed this bill on principle. Obama is laughing at all of us.

All government power is for sale, therefore the power to release the Lockerbie bomber was for sale. I can't fault BP for trying to increase its profit. I don't even fault the aristocrats for selling the power. I fault the people for giving the government their power to sell to the highest bidder in the first place.

WAR:

Peace is scary. Peace is hard. It's a lot easier to call on prissy chicken hawks like Barack Obama and George Bush to send some other parents' children to die overseas than it is to live up to America's self-proclaimed ideal of the land of the free and the home of the brave.

ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:

The federal government has blocked immigration agents from building communication towers on the Mexican border because of environmental regulations. You can't make this stuff up.

POLITICS:

Americans now rate government and politicians as the number one problem facing the country. They got it right again.

What are the chances AG Holder will investigate claims his Civil Rights Department won't prosecute black defendants? Zero. Instead, he'll find a black Republican and prosecute him.

Almost four out of five Americans think the financial oppression bill will fail to stop future financial crises. Americans aren't dumb but, we keep voting for the same people and parties who are robbing us blind and destroying our country. I think we're schizophrenic. Financial oppression passes Congress.

As I predicted when the SEC filed suit against Goldman, this suit would amount to nothing. Goldman settled, and there is no doubt they penalties they settled for are a tiny fraction of the profits they have made from the government's bailouts and regulations favoring them. Both sides get to claim victory to their audiences. Both sides walk away winners. It's a charade. This is a big show to fool the American people into thinking the government is on their side, not Goldman's. You can bet Goldman is the single biggest winner in the financial oppression bill too. This WaPo blogger has it right:

"The SEC’s $550 million settlement with Goldman Sachs is naturally being touted by the feds as a major victory, “the largest penalty ever assessed against a financial services firm in the history of the SEC.” Maybe. But there’s another way to look at it.

Goldman’s net income was more than $13 billion in 2009. So $550 million is about two weeks’ worth of earnings. Looks like Goldman figured a two-week furlough was a pretty modest price to pay to give the SEC its headline, without admitting wrongdoing, and move on.

Did anyone at the SEC think about the public benefits of a trial, in terms of sustained media scrutiny of Wall Street’s unsavory practices, whatever the outcome? Did anyone tote up the two weeks of earnings figure? Looks at first blush like another pretty smart Goldman trade."

It was always just a show to make it look like Obama was tough on Wall Street. It's a charade. $550 million is chump change to Goldman - the price of doing business under Pharaoh Obama. It screams banana republic.

John Stossel says we've become a nation of a million rules. I think he's underestimating. The only rule we need is that one person is not allowed to harm another or his or her property. Any other rule is anti-freedom.

The Fed stands ready to drastically inflate the money supply again to keep this masquerade of a recovery from falling apart. I feel better.

"Economists predict the Fed will keep the key interest rate at a record low well into next year and possibly into 2012. The Fed has leeway to hold it at a record low because inflation isn't a threat to the economy."

Really? I've noticed prices all around Dayton on the rise, and shadowstats.com reports inflation at just under six percent. In who's world isn't that a problem?

Despite all the burdens and obstacles put on BP by the government, BP has managed to stop the oil leak temporarily. Nice job. The government is forcing BP to do unnecessary stress tests on this cap that may create new leaks or cause the leak to leak again.

POLITICS:

Widespread ownership of private property undermines the progressive agenda. That's why Obama and Democrats work so hard to take our property and our property rights from us.

As I explained all along, this revolution is not going to work out the way Obama wants. Americans are going to demand more freedom, not more oppression. Somebody has noticed that it's backfiring on Obama. It's not rocket science. Like I keep saying, Americans know the dangers of government. We're immersed in that wisdom in a way no other people on earth are. How can you tell when a politician is lying? His lips are moving. What are the scariest words you'll ever hear? I'm from the government, and I'm hear to help. Americans instinctively know government is their enemy. I just figured it out why we seem schizophrenic. The two parties have done a fabulous job of capitalizing on fear of government by scaring Americans into thinking the other party is the enemy when each is pretty much just as bad as the other. They've worked together to divide and conquer the American people, expanding the burden of government by leaps and bounds despite the powerful distrust the vast majority of Americans have of government. The people have to wake up to the fact that both parties are the enemy. But Democrats will never give up being the party of big government, socialism and communism first. Conservatives must repudiate Bush and the big-government Republicans and transform the Republican party into a party of small government, or America as we know it will cease to exist.

History tells us that conservatives are not serious about the deficit. It's good to see somebody telling the truth about this. I'm sure Republicans understand this.

The estate tax will force many families to sell off family businesses when the owner dies. This a reason Obama loves it.

I've recently been wishing the feds would default on all our debt which would punish all the people who voluntarily funded the crimes of government by buying that debt and would insure nobody would lend money to the government again for a long time, and out of the blue comes an article advocating the same. I like this idea for myth-busting:

"The following example might serve as an effective means of getting the state to formally acknowledge that it is not the agent of any ordinary people. One might identify a given candidate – perhaps for the House of Representatives – and send them a certified letter [for evidentiary purposes] telling that person as follows: "I intend to vote for you, in the general election, to be my duly selected representative in Congress. If you are elected, I hereby direct you to never vote for any measure that would, whether directly or indirectly, increase my tax obligations." Should that person be elected, a follow-up letter should at once be written stating: "Congratulations on your being elected as my representative to Congress. I voted for you in yesterday’s election. You will recall my letter of [previous date] in which I directed you, as my agent, to never vote for any bill that would increase my tax obligations." After taking his or her seat in Congress, should the representative vote in favor of any such tax-increasing measure, the alleged "principal" would immediately file an action against the so-called "agent" for breach of contract. The courts would then have to confront the issue of whether an elected official is or is not such an "agent" of those who so select them. I suspect the judiciary would hold that such officials are not the agents of anyone other than themselves."

It's impossible for any 'representative' to represent all of us, so he or she can only represent one of us, and that one is inevitably himself. He profits at our expense.

REGULATION:

Democrats start the process of taking over control of retirement accounts by proposing forcing employers to enroll new employees in IRAs. That way there will be more money in IRAs when they seize them later. In the mean time, it means another obstacle to hiring, making sure our economy does not recover.

In a stark reminder that the government can only be an enemy to progress, government blocks BP from pressure testing its new cap, holding up this attempt to limit the damage. This fits perfectly with my theory that President Obama wants the leak to do as much damage as possible.

38 people have built nuclear fusion reactors. The 39th might be a 14 year old who built his for about $5,000. But they don't produce net energy - yet.

WAR:

Taliban kill 12 NATO troops. Here's a fine summary of the war in Afghanistan:

Harry Reid's claim about illegal immigration is neither ignorant nor arrogant, it's dishonest.

POLITICS:

The comparison to Lenin is right on, but they shouldn't have put Hitler on this billboard. That's guaranteed to provoke a backlash.

Reagan's budget director, David Stockman, the one who finally resigned because Reagan failed to reduce spending, supports Ron Paul for president. He also calls Ben Bernanke the worst Fed chairman we've ever had.

"He is the greatest enabler of Wall Street speculation and of the disasters that brewed both before the financial crisis of 2008 and are brewing again, and I would blame the Bush White House. I would lay this right at the doorstep of Karl Rove. How did they vet the appointment of a new Fed chairman and not even read the black-and-white writings of this Bernanke fellow who said, ‘If push comes to shove, I’ll print money until the cows come home. I’ll drop it out of helicopters!’ This is Republican doctrine? This is sound money?”   Stockman concludes: “The Wall Street casino is simply a consequence of what Bernanke is doing, and for that alone, he should be removed from office."

The Republican party must repudiate Bush and Rove in similar fashion if the US as we know it is to survive.

"[Friedman is] the one who basically told Nixon, ‘Close the gold window, throw out the old disciplines, eliminate the old rules, just let the Fed manage the money supply, let the exchange rate float, and everything will work out perfectly.’ Friedman was utterly naïve politically, and he didn’t recognize that once you threw the restraints away—of fixed exchanged rates, of a dollar tied to some metallic reserve—the Fed would be under enormous pressure politically and intellectually to make excuses to flood the market with easy money…Today we’re reaping the harvest.”"

It's interesting that he ultimately blames Friedman - the so-called supporter of free markets. Too bad he's wrong about taxes.

I agree on principle that a person who chooses to intentionally kill another should suffer the death penalty, but I've come to the conclusion that our corrupt government cannot be allowed to make that decision.

That's what I keep saying. Pretty soon cops will be arresting people because they went from point A to K to R to D, spent so much time at each point, said a couple of keywords, then a government expert will tell a jury that 98 percent of people who do that are selling drugs or planning a terrorist attack, and juries will convict. We're the fools allowing this to happen to us.

Republican Governor Chris Christie has been successful so far in ultra-liberal New Jersey. The problem is the way we measure success. Small decreases in the burden of government tremendously improve lives, but large reductions in the burden of government improve them proportionally more. Why should we settle for anything less than the maximum freedom, prosperity, and security possible that can only come from taking away the government's power to tax?

Convicted felons voting illegally may have delivered the Minnesota senate seat to Al Franken. Or it may have been the extra boxes of ballots found in a Democrat poll worker's trunk that just happened to heavily favor Franken. I support the rule of law, but outlawing felons from voting once they've served their time is wrong.

Score one for loony representative Michele Bachmann for understanding that Obama trying to turn America into a nation of slaves. That's what Marxism is: a slave state.

TAX AND SPEND:

Just in case you didn't realize how big a hole our government has dug for us:

"At present, available federal revenues are fully consumed by just three programs: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans, the whole rest of the discretionary budget is being financed by China and other countries.""

It's going to get worse before it gets better.

Somebody in the mainstream media has finally admitted that government spending is harmful:

"Even worse, they found that pork actually pushes private investment out of a state. When the federal government intrudes, it raises demand for the state's workers and real estate, jacking up prices. Often, companies can't compete, so they flee."

This is the first time I've ever seen that. Government spending takes resources from productive work - work people pay for voluntarily - and and puts them in unproductive work - work people won't pay for voluntarily - harming the economy. That's why we have to pay for government spending twice.

Obama's chart regarding the $800 billion stimulus tells the tale. Without the stimulus, unemployment would have topped out around nine percent. Obama projects that the stimulus will reduce that number to eight percent, but in reality, for every unproductive job created by the stimulus, two productive jobs are lost, so unemployment shoots up to ten percent. To put it another way, one job forward, two jobs back. The American people are figuring this out.

Obama to spend $1.85 billion to create 85 jobs with a Spanish green company. That's the same Spain that bankrupted itself with its green jobs push. Assuming an average productive job in the US pays $50,000 a year, that means Obama is going to kill 37,000 productive jobs to create these 85 unproductive jobs.

New York City taxpayers pay an average of $8.60 for each dollar a union city employee contributes to his pension. The people have nobody to blame but themselves.

The unemployment racket. Of course conservatives are on board with this theft too.

Murray Rothbard explains that the number of people on welfare is directly related to how much welfare pays and contrasts that with Milton Friedman's position.

"Being-on-welfare, like all other human economic acts, has a "supply function": in other words, if you make welfare pay enough, you can produce as many welfare clients as you wish to have. Pay them little enough and you can reduce the number of clients at will. In short, if the government should announce that anyone who signs up at a "welfare" desk gets an automatic annual check of $40,000 for as long as he wishes, we will find soon enough that almost everyone has become a welfare recipient – and what is more, will join a "welfare rights" organization to lobby for $60,000 to offset the rise in the cost of living.

More specifically, the supply function of welfare clients is inversely proportional to the difference between the prevailing wage rate in the area and the level of welfare payments. This difference is the "opportunity cost" of going on welfare – the amount that one loses by loafing instead of working. If, for example, the prevailing wage rises in an area and the welfare payments remain the same, the differential and the "opportunity cost" of loafing rise, and people tend to leave the welfare dole and go to work. If the opposite happens, more people will go on the dole. If being on welfare were an absolute fact of nature, then there would be no relation between this differential and the number on welfare.⁸"

So the only way to get people off of welfare is to end welfare. Here's another factor:

"Secondly, the supply of welfare clients is inversely proportion to another vitally important factor: the cultural or value disincentive of going on welfare. If this disincentive is strong, if, for example, an individual or group strongly believes that it is evil to go on welfare, they will not do it, period. If, on the other hand, they do not care about the stigma of welfare, or, worse yet, they regard welfare payments as their right – a right to exert a compulsory, looting claim upon production – then the number of people on welfare will increase astronomically, as has happened in recent years."

Over time, the stigma barrier tends to get lower as welfare becomes ingrained in the minds of people and become normal.

"Another example [of resistance to welfare] is the Mormon Church, very few of whose members are on public welfare. For the Mormons not only inculcate in their members the virtues of thrift, self-help, and independence, they also take care of their own needy through church charity programs which are grounded on the principle of helping people to help themselves, and thereby getting them off charity as quickly as possible.¹⁰ Thus, the Mormon Church counsels its members that "to seek and accept direct public relief all too often invites the curse of idleness and fosters the other evils of dole. ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION:

Foxnews has recently been reporting that the Arizona illegal immigration law restricts cops from harassing people about immigration status unless they have been stopped regarding another crime. I wonder how specific is this? Can they ask witnesses to a crime? Neighbors they're looking for information about a crime? If so, this is a bad law. If they can only demand ID from people who have have been arrested for another crime, I have no problem with it.

POLITICS:

Any American who is just figuring out that Obama is anti-business is an idiot. His first book told us he was a Marxist. It was reported he was a Marxist by the summer of 2008 at least. Anybody who couldn't bother to pay enough attention to figure that out before the election should never vote again.

55 percent of Americans have realized that Obama is a socialist. Duh. What's wrong with the other 45 percent?
