Police State

NSA collects an overwhelming amount of spam. Finally, and upside to spam.

British police stop an alleged copycat mall attack. Or maybe they busted some patsies they set up. We'll have to see.
"The official — who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media on the record — said it was not clear how advanced the planning was but that any attack was not imminent."
Sounds like a patsy setup.

Washington D.C. police defy orders and allow veterans to disassemble barricades around memorials. This is great news.
"There can be no doubt that Whitehouse officials are livid that the cops allowed the veterans to dump hundreds of barricades at the entrance of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."
They might have been livid for a minute, but if police had beaten those veterans, Americans might have burned the White House down. Obama's lucky the police didn't attack.
"Some will argue that the cops were outnumbered or afraid.  I don’t buy that for a second.  What happened was the officers recognized that their oath of office and duty was in conflict with the orders from the Whitehouse and acted accordingly."
I imagine both factors were involved.
