Millennials don't buy cars, houses or other big ticket items because they have no money.

Since Katrina hit New Orleans, I've advocated that the feds turn it into a federally-free zone - abolition of all federal laws, taxes, regulations and "benefits" and the withdrawal of all federal personnel - so it could recover as quickly as possible. It would be best if it was also made a state-free, and city state-free zone too, but I'm not going to go overboard. In a similar vein, this author advocates government free Detroit so it can recover as quickly as possible.
