Tax and Spend

Conservatives unhappy with Boehner's proposed tax increases. Are they just now realizing that Boehner stuck a dagger in their back as soon as he was elected Speaker?

Some people still don't understand Obama's motives.
"The president's veto threat is a bluff. Without a new law, tax increases and spending cuts will likely increase unemployment to 9% and might trigger a new recession. Even if he could shift all the political blame for such a legislative failure onto congressional Republicans, Mr. Obama cannot afford to risk a new recession that would irreparably damage his second term. He can neither veto a budget-deal bill that Congress sends to him, nor can he allow Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to tie a bill up in the Senate. He can, however, try to bluff Republicans into giving away the store."
On the contrary, harming our economy is the president's goal. He'd love to see that happen. He doesn't have to run for election again, so he'll happily trash our economy so he can try to foment a communist revolution. The problem for him is the special interests he works for and all politicians work for don't want the economy to collapse.

Pat Buchanan advises Boehner to pass the Bush tax cuts and the payroll tax cut and call Obama's bluff. I agree that's best political move for him, but he won't do it. The special interests want more revenue so they can increase spending.
